Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
Good recipe, moist cake, but the rising power wasn't impressive. I might add an extra 1/2 tsp. baking powder.

Beef Fajitas

What a gorgeous combination! I sliced the beef and put it in an airtight container to marinate overnight. The flavors really permeated the meat. Great recipe, thanks for sharing!

Homemade Wonderful Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2003
I used this recipe to make miniature hamburger rolls. I made it according to directions, but before the last rise, I rolled out the dough and cut out the dough into 2-1/4 in. diameter. I used a double shot glass, anything between 2 and 3 in. diameter will work. I let them rise for 30 min. before brushing them with a beaten egg and sprinkling them with sesame seeds. Then I baked them in an oven preheated to 350 degrees farenheit for 10-12 min.

I substituted some of the brown sugar for honey and I also added onions and garlic that I removed after cooking.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Lovely sweet and sticky wings! I substituted dark brown sugar for the molasses, and reserved half of the marinate for brushing over the wings while they baked. This way they weren't in contact with the raw meat. Great recipe.

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Good basic recipe. I browned the onion in the butter before adding the flour to make a paste. Then I added the stock slowly while I whisked it. Came together nicely and a very authentic taste!

Home-Style Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
A great recipe. I deglazed the butter and onion pan with white wine and added parsley at the very end, while the sauce base thickened. I also made four layers and covered each with the sauce and shredded cheddar cheese. To die for!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Really good recipe! Clarification for all those whose reviews said they didn't understand the shaping process. To make the crescent shape, just think of rolling out and cutting pizza dough. Then roll up from the wide, or crust end, and bring together the points together.

Great flavor, but make sure you oil the bread pans extra well, as they will stick.

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2004
I definately thought this needed a bit more for a truly robust marinade. I added about 1/4 cup of beef broth, a touch of sesame oil, and 1/4 cup beer (last). Also about 1/2 tsp. of salt and 1/4 tsp. of pepper really helped. Great base though!

These cookies are undoubtedly great, but I don't want to give credit where it's not due. I've been making this same recipe for year. I first read it on the back of a bag of chocolate chips.
