About this Cook
I have 3 kids, a husband and a dog. I'm working on my Associates in Teaching Degree and will graduate in 2013. I have been cooking since I was 8 and I love to cook for my family and friends. I cooked for a resterant for awhile and found it to be too demanding for a career. I LOVE to talk food, though.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking New recipies. I have been searching and experimenting for years and have my own home cookbook. My favorite thing is baking cookies or desert that I know nobody else has tried yet. I can usually tell when a recipie is going to be a hit.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My kids show alot of interest in cooking and baking so I like to find things that they can do. My 4 yr old is pretty good at breaking eggs now. Also, Christmas cookies are always a favorite. This yr, I got my husband to help. It was so fun to teach him my ways. I usually go all out for all of the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
I've created alot of recipies over the yrs. I've got a Rum Cake tradition going that I will not break. Everyone gets Rum Cakes for christmas.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to create a recipie for a contest and it was just not good. I kept making it until finally my husband told me he couldn't eat it anymore. I realized after a month or 2 that I was way out in left field with that one.

Cream Puffs
This was my 1st attempt at making cream puffs. They turned out great. I LOVED the filling. I took the suggestion of another viewer and poked a hole in the top 3 min before they were done, also put mini ch chips in the filling although it would have been heavenly without them. I was hoping they would be a little hard on top and a little sweeter. Just saw a review where they should be 'dried out'. I'll do that next time. Another viewer said to use a TBLS of sugar and 2 tsp of vanilla. I used the sugar and forgot the vanilla. I think the vanilla would have helped. Either way, everyone still LOVED them.
