Chicken Cheese Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
I am terrible with remembering to get dinner started on time, and so I came onto allrecipes all in a fluster with only one meat option. Canned chicken I had on hand. This recipe did not let me or my family down. It was absolutely delicious. I did not put celery in it as I didn't have any. But it would have been even better with it. What an easy quick comforting dinner this was! Thankyou!

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
I made this with venison sausage. Since the venison is a little more dry, and it was impossible to mix it to where it actually formed a ball, I added a half cup of milk. It worked beautifully. And they are delicious!

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
This is a delicious pie crust recipe. I do not believe it can be beat. I used another recipe for years, but inexplicably lost the recipe and was forced to do a quick search. I chose Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust, I lost count when I was adding the flour and apparently had not added nearly enough, So I ended up rolling it out and working it twice. Which usually rings the death knoll for tender and flaky. But not with this! It was perfectly tender and flaky. Everybody at my party wanted the recipe. I did a small variation. Instead of using cold water, I used chilled Relax white wine. I have never had a crust this delicious.

Creamy Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
This is a delicious Vanilla Pudding. I made it exactly as the directions said, except I then tempered the egg/cornstarch mix just to be on the safe side. I used this in pie shells sprinkled with peanut butter/powdered sugar crumbs, then sprinkled the tops of pudding and top with whipped cream. Absolutely delicious!

Simple Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
Oh this is yummy! I added quite a bit more taco seasoning, and left out the chilis, but otherwise, just as the recipe. Very delicious and satisfying.

Oatmeal Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
This is literally the perfect cookie. I did a few substitutions. I used Lard instead of butter, and I added 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice. They are perfect! Delicious, soft yet crunchy on the outside. I did not time them when I baked them, I just watched them and got them out right at that sweet spot when they look like they are not done in the middle, let them rest a few minutes on the cookie sheet. And were they ever good!!

Bean Rarebit

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2012
Lord have mercy! This is GOOD! I made it exactly like the recipe except I made twice the amount and used a mixture of pinto beans, navy beans and black beans. I tasted it to make sure its actually good, and finally stopped myself after the fifth big bite. This is comfort food and so tasty! We shall have it over hot biscuits.

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2013
I made these waffles this morning for our guests, I doubled the recipe and added 1 tsp of cinnamon. I did not have buttermilk so I added 1 Tablespoon, vinegar to 2 cups of milk, added an extra cup of flour, and mixed the baking soda in with the wet ingredients. They were absolutely delicious!
