Sausage Barley Soup

Reviewed: May 9, 2006
This is my new FAVORITE soup! I used hot sausage and it was amazingly good. Doubled up on the seasoning and garlic and used one bag of baby carrots. AWESOME!

Puffs

Ok, I alway flub these kind of recipes up, so I was sure this was going to be a failure... but they turned out PERFECT! Simple, fool-proof and delicious. I stuffed them with tuna salad and served them as an appetizer... they were a hit!

This is a fantastic salad. I made this as part of a Hawaiian menu for a luau-style birthday party. It was fresh, sweet and colorful and everyone loved it.

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I used a variety of meats on this, didn't stick to the ones specific to the recipe. I was very happy with it. Simple to throw together and well-received by my guests.

BLT Wraps

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2003
Very light and tasty. I served these with cut veggies and ranch dressing on the side to dip everything into. It was really quick to throw together and I would imagine with fat free/low-fat cheese and turkey bacon it could make a really healthy meal. I'll make these alot. Thanks for the recipe!

Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2003
This is a great sandwich! I used mozzarella SLICES and after I took it out of the broiler cut it into eight pieces (cut in half, then each half cut into four pieces) and served them with pizza slices... honestly it was almost just like restaurant mozzarella sticks. The bread was very similar to the breading that coats the restaurant sticks. Had these with a big green salad for lunch. If you have a customizable broiler you might want to set it for about 350 or lower. I left mine on the default setting of 500 (yikes!) and burnt the first two to a crisp in about 45 seconds. The next ones turned out perfect :)

BAKER'S® ONE BOWL Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
These are perfect just the way they are, don't change a thing :) Next time I think I'll dip the very bottom in some chocolate and let them set up on parchment paper.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2005
MMMmmmm... I love a good minestrone, this was just what I was looking for. Now, I thought I'd be all slick and dumped the uncooked pasta right into the soup. Not a good idea. The starch from the pasta thickened the soup so it was more like a stew. Won't do that next time!

California Salad Bowl

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2003
This salad is delicious! I made it exactly as the recipe states, no changes, and it turned out perfect. I made this salad to go along with tacos and loved it so much I skipped the taco's and kept refilling my plate with the salad :) I'm so glad I found this recipe-- I will make it over and over.

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2003
This dish is so good! I subsituted the chilie sauce with enchilada sauce because it's what i had on hand. It was nice and spicey. I made this to go with our taco dinner and ended up eating just the rice, served with a little sour cream. Made good leftovers too.

Apple-Cheddar Tossed Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I served this last night and every single one of my guests went nuts over it. I barely got a serving myself, lol! I didn't use all the dressing, just tossed enough in till it looked right for my taste. I ended up sending the rest of the dressing home with one my friends who reacted as though I just gave her a Christmas gift.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
My husband asks for these all the time. So simple but so fabulous! One tip... the dough seems to dry out really fast, and the drier the dough, the tougher the cookies are after they're baked. I solved that problem by storing the dough in an airtight container between batches. I take a damp cloth or paper towel and place it on top before I seal it up. Works like a charm.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
Perfectly perfect! Why have I been making the pie on the back of the Libby's can all these years???? This is the best, I will never make anything different. My 9-year-old has been breaking his poor mother's heart all these years by declaring that he doesn't like pumpkin pie... and what do you know? He tried this. He loved it. He had two pieces and another the next morning for breakfast. My life is complete.

Summer Chicken Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
These sounded so basic I couldn't see what the big deal was, but I'm so glad I made them anyway. The mix of sweet onion, provolone and avocado is amazing! My hsuband is a big beef guy, but even he fell in love with these. It's not summer anymore, but I'll make 'em on the George Foreman for sure :)

Carne Asada Marinade

After stocking our deep freezer with steaks this past summer I found myself using this marinade a LOT. It tenderizes and adds a nice subtle flavor w/o over-powering your choice of meat.

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2003
Mmm, mmm, mmm! I made these as an appetizer/side dish for my daughters birthday party, which had a hawaiian theme. My guests LOVED 'em! I doubled the recipie, using 4 lbs. of frozen meatballs I picked up at a restaraunt supply store. It gave me two decent-sized trays to put out. I omitted the carrot, but left everything else the same. I made the sauce, then put in the green pepper, pineapple and meatballs and simmered it for about an hour waiting for people to arrive. I skewered about 1/2 of them on toothpicks with a piece of pineapple or pepper. Hope that helps any other party planners out there :)
