Cola Pot Roast I

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
This was really good. All 4 kids and husband enjoyed it. Made mashed potatoes, green peas, and biscuits to go with it. Yum. I didn't think it would be as good as it was. I pretty much followed the recipe except for the celery, and doubled the amounts of everything to have enough for tomorrows dinner. The gravy was thick enough for us, and my daughter said it was good enough to drink!

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
I had never tried this before, had heard other people talk about making it though. I was tired of the same old stuff for weekend breakfasts and since it looked kid friendly, decided to try it. My kids and husband loved it. We've made it 2 days in a row. The kids cut out the circles, and brushed the bread with melted butter. I cracked the egg in it as soon as I put it in the pan, used a nonstick pan, so I added no butter to the pan. It fried perfectly. Toast was crisp, and egg was just right. We fried the circles for dipping. My husband put cheese on his, and declared it great.

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
I'm giving this 5 stars because it is sooo easy, and fast. I added a little more cocoa, just my preference, and used chocolate milk, because it needed to be used up. The end result was chocolately, and creamy, more than enough to thickly frost a 9x13 cake. I also did not measure my sugar, but I'm sure it wasn't the called for amount. Kids loved it.

I made this cake for my husband's birthday, he said it was the best strawberry cake he had ever eaten-did not last long here. Thanks for the recipe. It will be used many times here.

Yum. Made this with frozen shrimp and it was great, can't wait to try it again with fresh shrimp. Even my very finicky 10 year old loved this.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2003
Took longer to rise than stated-May have been the weather here. Made wonderful crusty rolls, and I followed the suggestion of using the dough to wrap cocktail weiners with. GREAT. My 4 kids had them all gone in 10 minutes. Will use this recipe again and again. I also cut the amount of sugar used.

Butter Crescents

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2003
Good recipe-a little time consuming, especially for a novice bread maker like me, but the results are worth it. I have made these rolls several times, the only time I had a problem was when I made them on a rainy day. The dough did not rise properly, but they still tasted great. Thanks.

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2003
Thanks Charley, have used this recipe with beef, and venison to make burritos and chimichangas, is spicy but not hot-my 4 year old twins love the chimis made with this recipe-better than the ones at our local mexican place.

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2003
Loved this recipe, my kids all ate it, and then had the left overs cold, dipped in the icing. Didn't have corn syrup-left it out. I enjoyed my pancake with a sugar free maple syrup, and it was great, but my kids raved about the icing, and have requested them again next weekend.

Hoagie Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2003
Thanks Cindy for a great idea-We used pizza dough-I spread the bottom dough with fat free Italian salad dressing (vinegrette type), omit the eggs-and pile on the thin slice deli ham, turkey, and occasionally pepperoni slices, my family asks for this every couple of weeks, and with 4 picky kids and my husband to all enjoy this is really saying something-the recipe is very versatile, we have made it with various meats, and vegetables. Quick and easy, clean up is minimal. Thanks again.
