Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
I have been making fried chicken for years for my family - and they LOVE mine. But today I tried this one - and this was, bar none, the BEST technique and recipe I've ever had. My family LOVED it. You can adjust it to make it "spicier"if you prefer, or make it simple, as is - either way, it is absolutely great. Be sure to cook on low, with a lid, to ensure it is at it's peak of slow cooked goodness - and then crisp it up. Really great

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I only used 1 (rounded) cup of flour per the other reviews and baked in an 11 x 7 pan. They turned out perfect. Firm and with a slight "cake" texture, but still soft and gooey. The best!

Coconut Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
This cake is truly excellent. Be sure to beat the sugar/butter for about 7 minutes to ensure enough air is incorporated. Also, I use dessicated coconut (I buy it online) and it makes a WONDERFUL improvement - none of that "chew chew chew" feeling with the supermarket kind. Has a stronger coconut taste, and lends a firmness that makes this wonderful cake even better!

Oatmeal Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
Not sure what the first reviewer was talking about - yes the dough for these rolls is a little sticky - but easily manageable! AND - they are DELICIOUS. Soft, but with a full texture - I get raves every single time I make them! They make great rolls - absolutely great! Thanks for the recipe.

Dawn's Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
This is a very specific kind of cookie - for most people's taste, it MUST be frosted. It is dense and cake like - without frosting, it is decidedly bland. With the addition of the sweet frosting, it becomes a killer cookie. I actually use a slightly different buttercream frosting, and frost heavily - often adding sprinkles, coconut or other finishing touches. My advice - if you are looking for a traditional "eat it plain" sugar cookie - this is not it. If you're looking for an dense, cakelike base cookie to add a sweet frosting - awesome!

White Chocolate Snack Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
This was excellent! I had a little extra of the cereal, pretzels, etc so I used them up - but after reading the reviews I decided to also melt a package of "swirled" peanut butter/chocolate chips. Mixed them in first, then did the white chocolate as directed. Used giant m & m's because i had them on hand. It was simple, easy enough clean up and really tasty - the sweet/salty thing is addictive.

This is a spectacular and great tasting cake - needs no frosting as outside forms a slightly crunchy sweet layer! Would be a colorful, great holiday cake!
