These are awesome cooked in the crock pot! After trying it the way the recipe stated, I did make these changes: I did half grass fed ground beef and half Italian Sausage. I substituted the milk for an egg. I also used panko Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. Also, make sure you use real parm cheese - no fake stuff! I doubled the recipe and made smaller sized balls. I cooked them on low in the crock pot in 2 jars of sauce, a can of diced tomatoes, and I added a package of mushrooms and a zucchini that were cooked in butter/olive oil and garlic before adding to the sauce mixture. You will be left with a nice thick meaty sauce and delicious meatballs :)
