Elephant Ears

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Most all the recipes here for Elephant Ears are much the same...this one is pretty good. When I make mine, I start with a favorite cinnamon roll recipe. After cutting the rolls, I roll them out on a sugared counter top into 1/2 flat dough and then put them on oiled baking sheet and bake for 8-10 on one side and flip and bake another 8-10 minutes(add a bit of oil if needed to pan) or until golden brown. THESE are just like you get at the fairs.

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
To combat the dryness and to make it like my grandmother did, I added 1/2 cup Miracle Whip to the soup mix before adding the tuna, etc. Adds moisture and a light tang. Great!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
I LOVE this recipe! Nothing added and nothing omitted and nothing substituted for a really good basic chocolate cake recipe. I look forward to using this to make my cherry chocolate, my orange chocolate, and etc. cakes. Thank you.

Salmon Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2012
I made this recipe as written. It was too bland for me. So to create a spread for our french bread I added to it. First I used a fresh salmon fillet(I don't like canned fish) that I seasoned with seasoned salt and rosemary garlic from Tone's and baked it 15 minutes. I used all the ingredents listed on this recipe but increased the Worcestershire to 3 T PLUS i tsp. seasoned salt, 1T granulated garlic,1 tsp.Old Bay Seasoning,1/4 tsp celery seed and 1 tsp white sugar. And it was great! My 17 yr old granddaughter said it 'sounds gross' but she loved it!

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
Easy recipe.Too bland so followed one review and added garlic, nutmeg and cinnamon with a dash of ground red pepper. Much better. I cook my butternut squash in slow cooker after halving and de-seeding. Then quickly scrape off shell but leaving some tender parts of the skin for increased nutrition. I use my Magic Bullet to properly puree skin and meat and all the cooked veggies with the chicken stock. I used coffee creamer as didnt have half and half. I also added a bit of brown sugar. I shared with family and got great reviews. I am keeping this recipe as a starter for my soup.

Flatlander Chili

This is a great mild chili for kids and folks sensitive to spicy chili. I would make this again. The longer it simmers the better it gets.

Fish and Tamarind Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2014
Quick and easy. I had all the ingredients already when I was suddenly craving some Asian style soup to make me feel better today. The only thing I added for my personal taste was about 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Other than that, I would not change a single thing about this great recipe.
