Pecan Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
This was the first time I ever made a pecan pie. I added 1/4 cup of brown sugar(my preference) , but followed the rest of the recipe just as it says....this was the best! My family loved it and wants me to make more for Christmas. I didn't bake any longer than the recipe said, I let it cool for an hour and it was perfect!!!! You can't mess this up!

Ok, I loved these so much..and have made them several times in the past two months. I decided to see what it would taste like with chocolate. I made the recipe, added 3/4 cup of cocoa powder and tbsp of milk and WOW! Amazing!!!......both ways are awesome and very easy!

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
I used ciabatta bread and it was perfect. I poured about 1/4 cup maple syrup in the mixture and let the bread soak overnight in the whole mixture. I baked it in the morning and half way, I mixed everything as to cook evenly. It was very delicious and tasted like cinnamon rolls!

Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
Loved it as did my family. I used the whole little package of chives and needed to double the butter but it was great. I heated the butter in a separate pan and added the seasoning and then poured it on the noodles. Then tossed with the parmesan cheese

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

I have been making this every Thanks giving for several years and everyone always raves about it! It is delicious! I make mine with a tsp of cinnamon and I don't cube the sweet potatoes, I just boil them whole, let them cool and they peel very easily

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2014
I loved this! I didn't have almonds, but I had pecans on hand so I caramelized the pecans in sugar in olive oil until golden tossed them in the salad. Very elegant salad and I am sure the almonds would have been just as fabulous had I had them on hand.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2014
This was Fabulous! I only used 1/4 cup of water and the apples were very moist! I did double the entire crumble, but just because that is my favorite part of apple crisp as is my families. They loved it! Only bake as long as the recipe states or your apples will be mush! I plan on making this again in a few more months for the holidays...it is that good! Serve with french vanilla ice cream over the top.

Cream Cheese Filled Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
The best recipe ever. The muffins were so moist and the mix of spices was perfect. The only change I made was not to put cream cheese filling in the muffins. Instead, I made a cream cheese frosting to put over the muffins. This is the best recipe so far on this site that I have used. I doubled the batch and it made exactly 35 regular cupcake size muffins. My family loved these!!!!

My Great Grandmother was German and made "Kolaches"...and this recipe took me back to my childhood the minute I bit into the finished product.....Perfect! I'm not sure if it is the exact one she made, but it took me back to the childhood Christmases . thank you! Perfect blend of everything!

Caramels I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
This is the best caramel recipe I have ever made! The past couple of years I have been making another recipe and it just didn't have the right flavor...this one is PERFECT!! I used all the ingredients just as called for and I heated until 250. I used this to make homemade turtle treats but am going to make another batch for the pure enjoyment of caramels by themselves! This is the best!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I made this for my family and they loved it! I served it in soft warm corn tortillas and garnished with lettuce and onions. Next time will add guacamole. This tasted like we went to a restaurant! The only thing I did different was that instead of using salsa, I used a can of Rotell.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I have been using this recipe for over 5 years. I love it. The only thing I do different is use a crumb topping with a stick of soft butter, cinnamon, sugar and flour.

Jalapeno Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
This turned out nicely. I changed the setting for "10" servings vs 30 and it made one loaf. This was very flavorful! I only baked about 40 minutes as I prefer a more soft and moist center and it was perfect. I only gave 4 stars because I do feel it needs another spice, perhaps a little garlic salt vs. regular salt, but was still very good!

These were very easy to make. I halved the dough recipe but used the same amount of caramel pecan mixture and it was perfect. The family loved them.
