Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
I have been using this recipe for over 5 years. I love it. The only thing I do different is use a crumb topping with a stick of soft butter, cinnamon, sugar and flour.

THis is a great recipe. My family always topped a bowel of bread pudding with French Vanilla ice cream. It's heavenly.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I made this for my family and they loved it! I served it in soft warm corn tortillas and garnished with lettuce and onions. Next time will add guacamole. This tasted like we went to a restaurant! The only thing I did different was that instead of using salsa, I used a can of Rotell.

Chewy Caramel

This tasted delicious! It was a little soft, so to make them taste perfect, store the caramels in the fridge and then they are perfect

Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
I felt like it didn't taste cheesy enough and more of a onion casserole. It was ok, but definitely prefer a cheesier mac and cheese

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
I have been making this every Thanks giving for several years and everyone always raves about it! It is delicious! I make mine with a tsp of cinnamon and I don't cube the sweet potatoes, I just boil them whole, let them cool and they peel very easily

Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
Loved it as did my family. I used the whole little package of chives and needed to double the butter but it was great. I heated the butter in a separate pan and added the seasoning and then poured it on the noodles. Then tossed with the parmesan cheese

Cream Cheese Filled Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
The best recipe ever. The muffins were so moist and the mix of spices was perfect. The only change I made was not to put cream cheese filling in the muffins. Instead, I made a cream cheese frosting to put over the muffins. This is the best recipe so far on this site that I have used. I doubled the batch and it made exactly 35 regular cupcake size muffins. My family loved these!!!!

Pecan Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
This was the first time I ever made a pecan pie. I added 1/4 cup of brown sugar(my preference) , but followed the rest of the recipe just as it says....this was the best! My family loved it and wants me to make more for Christmas. I didn't bake any longer than the recipe said, I let it cool for an hour and it was perfect!!!! You can't mess this up!

Sugar Cookie Icing

It's just a preference, but I prefer the butter cream recipe on the cookies. Plus, this frosting stuck to the wax paper when I layered the cookies.

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
I used ciabatta bread and it was perfect. I poured about 1/4 cup maple syrup in the mixture and let the bread soak overnight in the whole mixture. I baked it in the morning and half way, I mixed everything as to cook evenly. It was very delicious and tasted like cinnamon rolls!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2013
I made a peanut free version. I used Almond Butter by Jif because this has the same consistency as peanut butter. our son has a peanut allergy and I wanted to try this recipe with the almond butter and the whole family loved them! The cookies lasted only a few days before they were all gone!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
I lost my banana bread recipe and found this one. This is a good base recipe per my taste I prefer more flavor. I knew after trying the batter that it needed 1/4 cup more sugar, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp all spice, 1/2 tsp of clove and 1/4 cup of shortening. Shortening is a must for moist bread....this turned out perfect for me with my additions.

Jalapeno Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
This turned out nicely. I changed the setting for "10" servings vs 30 and it made one loaf. This was very flavorful! I only baked about 40 minutes as I prefer a more soft and moist center and it was perfect. I only gave 4 stars because I do feel it needs another spice, perhaps a little garlic salt vs. regular salt, but was still very good!
