Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
I expected this to be a lot better after reading all the reviews. My family was not impressed. The sauce wasn't anything special, it mostly just tasted like soy sauce. I won't be making this again.

Pollo Fajitas

I use this recipe all the time and it's always a hit. Instead of chili powder I use taco seasoning (Taco Seasoning I from this site). I've made it using thighs and breasts and I definitely prefer thighs. Sometimes the breasts can be a little dry. I serve it with Mexican rice and guacamole.

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
Delicious, quick recipe that you can easily change according to what you have in your fridge. I often omit the chicken to make it even quicker. I used some of the suggestions and added some of the marinade from the artichoke hearts. I also usually add bell peppers and olives.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2012
I have made these a few times now and they are so delicious! The first time I made them, I followed the most helpful review and added extra flour. Big mistake! Maybe that would work if you lived under water, but I live in a dry climate and ended up with a bowl of dry crumbs that I could not get to stick together no matter how much I tried. I has to add some water to get it to stick, it luckily they still turned out fine. Now I just follow the recipe exactly and they turn out great!

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
I only gave this recipe 4 stars because it definitely requires a few changes to make it really good. More mushrooms are a must! I followed the suggestion to brown the chicken breasts, them remove them and sauté some garlic and onions, then deglaze the pan with the wine before putting the chicken and mushrooms in it. It works out really well that way. At the end, I add some milk (instead of cream) to the pan to make the sauce creamy, and to make more sauce. I find there isn't much left at the end. Adding milk makes it a nice sauce to put over pasta, and keeps it fairly low fat. We love it!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
There is a restaurant near us that makes the most amazing butter chicken ever! This is pretty close, which is saying a lot considering I've rarely made Indian food. I used some of the suggestions and used ground cashews instead of cornstarch. I think they added an ice flavor. I also added coriander, and I added a pinch of sugar because the butter chicken I like is kind of sweet. I think I will add a little more sugar next time. It also wasn't spicy enough for our liking, so next time I will add more cayenne. We served it over coconut rice which complemented it quite well. Overall a very good recipe and easy!

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
This stew was delicious! This was my first time making chicken and dumplings. I used some of the suggestios of other users and it turned out great! First, I cooked the chicken in the crock pot for about three hours with the onion, some spices, and some chicken boullion (I get the jelly stuff, it's like a condensed stock so it has no MSG). I added an extra cup of water. It probably could have used more, I guess it depends how much liquid you want at the end. The rest of the stew I made on the stove. I omitted the potatoes, and I'm glad I did because it would have been too starchy. The dumplings make it very filling! I was tempted to thicken the broth with some corn starch, but I decided to wait until I added the dumplings to see how it looked. I'm glad I didn't thicken it. The starch from the dumplings made it a perfect consitencey, it would have been too thick if I had added corn starch. The only other mistake I made was I made the dumplings too big! I didn't realize how much they grew in the water, so they turned into little baseballs! They still cooked fine and tasted great, they were just huge. I know next time to make them smaller. I will definitely be making this again!

Hunan Kung Pao

This was amazing! The only problem was the shrimp was a little over-cooked. Next time I won't cook the shrimp with the chicken at the beginning, I'll just add it after I put the veggies in the wok.

Country Green Beans

This recipe was so easy and so delicious! I used bacon instead of ham, and sauted the onions a little bit. My boyfriend loved it!
