Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2015
These were good but difficult to make. Especially the glaze. Mine clumped out but I did not have a way to pipe so used a Baggie. The glaze got hard too fast would thin it out more next time

Tropical Island Baked Beans

Pretty good. I only had 8 oz of pineapple and that was enough for me. The meat is a nice addition

This was great. I used 1 tsp of Cajun and pepper as meat was polish sausage with a bit of spice. Also added the large squirt of brown mustard. Then some garlic powder. Yum.

Fried Corn with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
I had all the ingredients so threw this together. It was very good. I did not use the MSG as that is a no-no in our house. I only used an orange pepper as that is what I had. I also added about 1/2 teaspoon of cajun seasoning and it was perfect.

Pretty Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
I made as written I did leave it overnight and it was still very good. My granddaughter said it was the best chicken. Not sure where it gets the pretty name as it looks like grilled chicken. It should be called great chicken.

Sunday Chicken

I have made this for years and always love it . It is comfort food to my family. Nothing exciting in flavor just comfort. I do add the onion soup on top for a bit of extra flavor.

It truly is great. Made it as written only used a pork roast instead of the tenderloin. I trimmed off the fat first. Used Sweet Baby Rays sauce and cooked on high 4 hours. So good.

The best carrot cake. I made exactly as written and used the cream cheese II frosting on this site. It was the only cake at the party that was gone.

These are great. I added a small amount of diced red pepper when I was frying the Italian Sausage. These go fast so make many.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2012
Very moist and tasty. I made as written but I did put some of the butter under the skin. Also my chicken was bigger so I had to cook it a bit longer but it was good.

Old Fashioned Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
Very good. We used orange pepper instead of green. Used about 1/2 cup chopped onion. I only added 1 1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder and only 1 cup mayo. Then we added cucumber and dill pickle relish and it was great. But I am sure it would be great just as written. We just embelished.

Garlicky Baked Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
My family loved this. I had problems peeling the squash but it was worth it as it tasted wonderful. The only thing I had to do different was to use dried parsley.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
Very good. I used only 1 tsp of salt and that was more than enough with regular chicken broth. I did not have cornstarch so I used potato flakes instead and just sprinkled them on the boiling soup. I also added a cup of carrots and a tsp of garlic. The family loved it.

Southern as You Can Get Collard Greens

I have never had collard greens before. These were wonderful. I used a ham bone instead of ham hocks. And then I cooked them for about 1 1/2 half hours. The flavor was very rich and tasted great.

Artichoke Chicken

I loved this. But I love artichokes. I browned the chicken first then placed on top of some fresh spinach. I used the marinated artichokes and followed the rest of the recipe. So good. Thank you.

Non Dairy Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
This was fantastic. The best cake ever. I made it for my SIL birthday as he has a dairy allergy. I doubled the cocoa, used almond extract instead of vanilla, and used 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup almond milk. It baked in 35 minutes in a 9 inch round pan lined with parchment and the sides greased and floured. It came out perfectly. I left it covered in the fridge over night and frosted it in the morning with Pillsbury's chocolate frosting as that is dairy free then topped it with raspberries. It was loved by all and already has become a request for other birthdays. Thank you for such a lucious recipe.
