I enjoyed this more than the kids did. Made it exactly as written and it turned out great. Thanks :-)

Pretty good Tuna Casserole...but not as tasty as my standby recipe. Nice for a change though. Thanks :-)

Heart Attack Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2006
This was my Sunday morning breakfast right up until I turned 30 and started to be concerned about my fat intake. Now it's a treat I indulge in about 5 times a year. It's the ONLY way my grandparents eat their eggs (two to three times a week and they're both hovering around 80 ~ go figure). Enjoy!

Mustard Sauce for Ham

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
Great sauce Laurie! I made it as written, except I substituted white vinegar for tarragon vinegar, because that's what we had here. Awesome on ham!

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2006
I put the chicken in to marinate in the morning and then cooked it in the oven (at 350 F) after I got home from work. I wish I had made more! I made it as written and LOVED it. Thanks Jill!

Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
Awesome sandwiches! My oven is broken (yes we're in full crisis mode) so I had to make these on the stovetop in the traditional grilled cheese manner. I also used a leftover can of pizza sauce to dip them in as I had no marinara sauce. Thank you so much NYCDave for the new fave.

Chili Chicken Stew

Reviewed: May 10, 2006
Soup, stew, who cares? What matters is this soup/stew rocks. My roommate was saying "five stars" after every third bite. I used canned corn and frozen green beans for the veggies, doubled the chili powder, and reduced the chicken broth to 1 can, as per previous reviews. Thank you Corwynn ~ you never disappoint me. :-)

Haddock Bubbly Bake

Reviewed: May 5, 2006
I must confess, I'm Nova Scotian and, before tonight, I'd never eaten this dish. It could have something to do with the fact that I flat-out refused to eat any type of seafood as a child. Apparently, every single person I know has eaten this, and all of them rave about it. I'm a big seafood eater now though and this dish is really tasty. It's definately comfort food. We had it with heaps of garlic mashed potatoes. Mmmmmmmmmm.

I just finished eating the whole pan of these myself. Yum. I added a little more feta than the recipe called for.

I made this for breakfast yesterday and it was well-received. I sprinkled oregano over the egg and cheese. Moist and yummy.

Four Cheese Macaroni Casserole

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
There were only 2 of us here to eat this but it was gone by the following morning. We're cheese-freaks so this was a big hit. The only thing that takes any time with this recipe is shredding all the cheese, but if you have a food processor you're golden. I'll be making this for potlucks in the future.

Greek Bifteki

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
I sprinkled some oregano into the ground beef mixture and the feta cheese. They turned out juicy and delicious. I had no problems with them falling apart. We used mayo, sliced tomato, and sliced cucumber as toppings.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
I'm eating one of these hot from the oven right now and they are awesome biscuits. I baked them right after making the dough (no resting time) and they rose up great. Went great with my smothered pork chops, whipped potatoes, and green beans. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
This was my first time making Biscotti and they turned out great. I followed the advice from JOYINABASKET and only baked the rolls for 10 minutes and then baked the slices for 5 minutes per side. I had no problems with crumbling when trying to slice. I used anise extract, and while I don't tend to like the anise flavor, this case was an exception. I'm going to try them with almond flavoring next time but the anise flavor is going to be a mainstay I think. Thanks for the great recipe!

Dad's Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
Almost the same as Mom made! Coming from such a large family (6 kids), we had this on a pretty regular basis. Mom says it's the first thing we all asked how to make when we got our own places. I added a little garlic to the ground beef while it was browning ~ Mom never did but I likes me some garlic :). I use beef bouillon instead of chicken bouillon. Mushrooms are really good in this too. Yummy comfort food. Thanks Rhonda!

Butterscotch Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
Great recipe Debbie! I have a tried and true recipe for Butterscotch Pie, passed down from my great-grandmother but I wanted to try this one because it uses cornstarch (mine uses lots of flour). The taste, texture, and color are fantastic. However, my meringue seperated from the filling, as stated by previous reviewers. I made sure to seal the meringue right to the edges of the pie crust but the meringue still slides right off the pie when I slice it. But for that, I would have gladly given this a 5-star rating. It tastes divine.
