Famous Japanese Restaurant-Style Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2014
This was fantastic! My family loved it. It made a lot and I used it as dressing for several days. I will make it again as a marinade. Great flavor, really happy with this!

Simple and delicious. Thyme is the perfect seasoning for this. Got lots of compliments when I made it for Thanksgiving.

Confetti Bean Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
This is my go-to quick, easy, and delicious salad. I always have a big supply of canned beans on hand so when I want to make this it's a snap. Lots of color, great taste, and everyone enjoys it. It makes a lot, so I get to enjoy it for a couple of days. Yay! The dressing seems a bit more than necessary, so I'm experimenting with cutting back on the oil and vinegar a bit so the "day 2" servings aren't swimming in it. I'm not usually a fan of cilantro, but it seems like the key ingredient in this for a hit of that fresh, zingy flavor. Try it out!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
Delicious! I read the other comments and reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup and it tasted just fine. Instead of pimento in mine I finely diced up about a half of a pickled jalapeno. It provided just a nice little bit of lip tingling heat. I will be making this one again!

Wicked Good Veggie Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
The spices gave it a really nice kick. My mom always made a rather sweet chili and it seemed she added the beans shortly before serving. This was the first time I cooked chili this long and the beans were nice and soft, haha! I just made it with what I had at home. I didn't have any TVP or sour cream. I question the need for the cinnamon, though. This made a large pot and I can't imagine that 1/4 tsp of cinnamon really made much of a difference. I certainly didn't taste it. I like to cook a large pot of stuff so I have leftovers, and this recipe fit the bill there! I always have chili on rice, though, so with the pot of rice this recipe will last 3 days and I have extra in the freezer. I will be making this again! Easy to make with "on hand" ingredients, quick prep time, and leaves a hot tingle in my mouth. Thanks for the recipe! Next time I might add some sliced jalapenos. Hmm... Update: I tried it with TVP today. Next time I will do as another suggested and double the amount of TVP. 1/2 cup was just barely noticeable in the chili. That may be due to my using 19 oz cans of tomatoes and beans instead of 12 oz cans.

Curry Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
This was fantastic! I was lazy and didn't blend the veggies, and I found my dried peas were still rather firm after a couple of hours on the stove. Next time I will try blending them. Regardless of blending, the soup smelled amazing and tasted even better. This is now one of my favorites. I already bought another bag of dried peas to make this again soon!

Pumpkin Spice Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
I made this using applesauce instead of oil (same quantity). The loaves turned out beautifully and the house smelled like pumpkin pie. My family ate one loaf for dessert. We heated thick slices in the microwave for a few seconds and served with a bit of ice cream on top. It was delicioust. Thanks for the recipe!

easily the best and easiest recipe I've seen. This recipe even won over some "I hate avocados" people! Absolutely a favorite.
