Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2013
omgosh this is delicious. My first time making any type of potato soup and this was so easy and yummy. The only thing I did different is left the potato and onion chunky for some texture...but followed the ingredients to a "tee". I will definitely make this again and again.

Mom's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
I am finally able to make a delicious pie crust. This recipe worked well but I didn't have an shortening so I used salted butter. I finally know how to create course crumb using another user's posted suggestion, which is to mix the butter dough mixture over and ice bowl...it worked perfectly. Not sure what the vinegar does, but I added it and this crust was great. I also use a hand mixture to create the coarse crumb - for some reason it doesn't work for me in an electric mixer - I think it's just me.

Sky High Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
After reading the reviews, I took tips from the UK tipsters and measured/added 2 cups of eggs vs just 4 eggs per recipe and I also added salt. These turned out perfect and as the recipe title says, they were sky-high and delicious. I also didn't wait for the oil to smoke, I just added the batter after the oil heated in oven for about 7 minutes. Oh, and I used oil vs beef drippings. Other tipsters stated to use Homogonized milk but I just used 1% milk that I usually have in refrigerator - and they turned out perfect.

Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2012
This is only the second time I have made scones and this recipe is the best ever!!! The last time I used a different recipe and I am so glad that I finally found this recipe...absolutely delicious. I followed all others advice and measured the egg and milk together, so that both together would equal 1 cup. I also added Hazelnut creamer instead of milk just as an experiment. Either would be great. The only thing I will mention is: don't freak out that the dough is very sticky like I did. I trusted the recipe and left the dough sticky when I rolled them into a ball and baked them. Do not add any more flour than the 3 cups - they were truly great.

Best Bruschetta Ever

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
I used all the same ingredients - The only think I did different is cooked the Bruschetta mixture just long enough to hear it sizzle, then transferred it to a bowl to cool. I felt that cooking it mixed and marrinated all of the flavors without waiting the full 8 hours. I made sure not to cook it to long so that the tomatoes were still in some type of chunky consistency.

Herbes de Provence Roasted Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
This recipe is my all time favorite. Sometimes I follow it almost exactly and sometimes it inspires me. The chicken is so moist and juicy. One time I substituted Guniess (sp?) beer for the white wine, so yummy. I will continue to make this recipe as it is the best chicken ever.

Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
This is the first time I made a cake from scratch and this cake turned out moist and delicious. I covered it with the 1 minute chocolate icing which was also very yummy. I did add a pinch of salt, not sure if it added anything but I will add a pinch of salt again since the cake turned out perfect.

Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
This is the second time I made this recipe and it turned out 5x better than the first time I made it. This (2nd) time, I took the tip to mist the bread every 3 minutes for the first 10 minutes. Although, I didn't have a spray bottle, so I just sprayed water with my fingers over the bread every 3 minutes for 10 minutes.. I also followed the other tip of putting a hot pan of water in the oven to create humidity. These two tips helped this recipe dramatically. Just enjoyed 2 slices right out of the oven with butter - omgosh so delicious.

Sweet Potatoes with Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
This is really yummy!!! I made 1/2 the recipe and it was plenty for two. I also made my own salsa in my Magic Bullet. Oh and I used sweet italian chicken sausage instead of italian sausage. I think whether you follow the recipe or use your own creativity this is delish.

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
I just sampled my first batch of these and wow are these yummy. I am bringing them to a cookie exchange party today and hope that everyone enjoys them. I followed the recipe and used a timer to ensure everything was done as stated - and I think they turned out delicious. The only thing that I tried, based on others feedback is that I crushed all crackers and it seemed to work great. I think I may bring them to my next family get together too.
