Soy Sauce Substitute

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2014
I'm in the middle of making dinner and just realized that I ran out of soy sauce and don't have time to run to the supermarket. Surprised at how close this tastes to store bought. Will make sure that I have some reduced sodium beef bouillon for when I make it next time. Thanks very much for sharing. :)

Two Ingredient Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
I didn't have spice cake mix, so I used yellow cake mix and added nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger. Also followed the suggestion to add two eggs. Baked in a tube pan for about an hour. Drizzled with a glaze made with confectioners sugar, and a little butter and milk. Turned out tasty and moist, and not too sweet...just the way I like it. I also liked that the thick batter gave the cake a 'rough' surface, which I think makes cakes and breads look more home made. 5 stars for how quick, easy, and tasty this recipe is. Too simple not to make again and again.

Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
This is a great way to use up a few over-ripe golden delicious apples. I eliminated the nuts and salt and used a cup of quick oats mixed with about 1/3 cup brown sugar, and kept the other ingredients as instructed. I was worried that it would dry out and covered with foil for the first 20 minutes, and then removed it for the remaining 25 minutes to allow the topping to crisp. Not too sweet, and absolutely delicious! If I had known I would be making this, I would have got some vanilla ice cream to go with it. Will make sure I get some tomorrow.
