Molasses Cookies

The last batch of this molasses wonderment is cooling on the rack at this very moment. These cookies are perfection just as the recipe is written. I did not (and would not) change a thing! When forming balls, I simply dropped a spoonful of dough into the sugar and rolled them around in the bowl with another spoon. The dough is very sticky. They do not have to be formed into a perfect ball. I would not press them out at all, but be sure to allow plenty of room between cookies. They do spread and flatten considerably, forming a perfectly round cookie. These could not be any easier!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

I just made these cookies an hour ago and a few times in the past. I have taken them to work and have always received compliments as well as requests for the recipe. My family loves them as well. I have cooked them using a conventional oven as well as convection. The cookies are soft on the inside and just a little crispy on the outside. In my opinion, they taste a lot like cookies you would buy at the mall, maybe even better. No need to tweak the recipe at all. The cookies are perfect as is.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

My husband and I loved this recipe. The sauce was delicious. The chicken was tender. I doubled the sauce as suggested by other reviewers, and I'm glad I did. We drizzled some on the chicken and our plates upon serving. My husband liked it so much that he told me to write the recipe down in case it is removed somehow online. That's never something he's ever said before, so that's a testament to its deliciousness.

Easy Vegetable Beef Soup

I made this recipe as is (as everyone should before they rate). It was quick, inexpensive and delicious. It does make a lot of soup, so it's good for family gatherings. I was able to take a container full to my in-laws. I had never made vegetable soup before. It was so easy. I will definitely make it again...perfect for a long, tiring day after work. Now having said that, next time I will try using beef broth instead of water just out of curiosity.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

This is one of the easiest meals I've ever prepared. I made this as is (which I wish everyone would please do before they review). I found no reason to change anything. This is a fantastic weeknight meal...a few minutes in the morning and a complete, delicious meal ready when you come home. I served it with Fritos, shredded cheese, and sour cream. It doesn't have a lot of 'kick', but that is easy enough to remedy for personal preference with some hot sauce, jalapenos, etc. I liked the 'crunch' from the corn and I would definitely not leave it out. This would be great for pot lucks and family gatherings. I will definitely make it for family and guests.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

My kitchen smells absolutely heavenly right now! You wouldn't think something so easy to make, with so few ingredients, could taste so delicious. The video for this recipe is a handy side-tool. As someone else suggested, a tsp of vanilla might be a nice addition, but it's fabulous as is!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

I made this today for Thanksgiving. I'm bad for trying new recipes for a crowd rather than trying them at home in private first. I trusted the reviews and gave it a try. This was really, really good, and I got many compliments. I doubled the recipe, and there was very little left over. My only complaint is that it was too salty...still delicious, but definitely too salty. I doubt eliminating a tsp of salt will make a difference, so it must be the cheese. I'm not sure if reducing that will make a difference, but I will give it a try next time...and there will be a next time!

Country Apple Dumplings

So easy, yet so good! I worried they might be too soggy based on some of the reviews, but that was not the case. We all loved it, including three picky children. I served them warm with ice cream. Perfect desert! I think this would be a great cooking opportunity to include my kids. They would love wrapping them in the crescent rolls. I will definitely make these again!

Sarah's Applesauce

This was wonderful! I've never had, much less made, homemade applesauce before. It was quick and easy. I served it with grilled pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes. My husband doesn't compliment my cooking often. This was no exception...or so I thought. The next day we went to visit his parents. We had only been there a few minutes when his mother said my husband had told her how delicious the meal had been the night before. I wish my husband would say it to me, but this was a great feeling too! I've made this a few time since, and it's always delicious. Makes good leftovers too!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

This bread is absolutely delicious. I've never made banana bread before, but the chocolate chips drew my attention. I made it exactly as is with no substitutions. There is no reason to change a thing. I have never had a more delicious bread in my life! It was extremely moist, but was cooked completely within the given time frame. I will definitely make this again and again.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

I've made this twice, exactly as written, and my family loved it. I've never made pumpkin bread before, and I've only eaten it once from a bakery. But hey it's autumn, so I thought I would give it a try based on the reviews. We loved it. I gave a loaf to my mother and one to my sister both times I've made it. They've asked me to make it again every time. I definitely will!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

This BBQ is sooo delicious! I too bought a Boston butt, which is much cheaper and goes a long way. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. I buy small reusable containers that are just the right size for a meal for my husband and myself. It makes a lot, so I have several perfect meals to pull out in a moments notice. Pop it in the microwave, and it is as good as it was right out of the crockpot. It is the best weeknight dinner ever. My in-laws are my neighbors, so they expect to receive a good portion as well. This recipe deserves a 5 star rating for sure.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

I made this recipe today for the first time. I followed it as written with one exception. One reviewer said that 7 qts of popcorn was equal to two microwave bags. I didn't question that, but I should have done the math myself. I should have used 3 bags. Instead of having that caramel crunch, it was more like caramel mush. I still gave it 5 stars, because caramel mush is still very good! But crunchy, caramel popcorn would have been much, much better. I will definitely make again using three bags of microwave popcorn!

Baked Spaghetti I

I have made this recipe, as is, at least a dozen times. No changes are needed. My family loves it. My husband does not like leftovers, but he will always ask if we have any left. My father-in-law says he hates spaghetti. In 24 years of marriage I have never seen him eat it, but I've heard him proclaim how much he dislikes it. He stopped by one time while I was cooking this. He thought it looked good when I took it out of the oven. He tried it and was surprised by how much he liked it. That was at least 10 years ago, and he still talks about it!

Becky's Chicken Salad

This is FABULOUS!! I have attempted to make chicken salad before, but I've never been thrilled with the results. Today changed all that!! I did cut back to 3/4 cup of mayo, left out celery (we don't like it) and it was perfect! I will make this one again and again =)
