Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

This was wonderful! I used chicken breasts with no skin sliced into strips. The chicken turned out crispy, tender, and juicy. This is the only way I will 'fry' chicken. This would be great on salads too. So easy yet so delicious.

Sweet and Sour Kielbasa

I just cooked this for supper. I've been waiting for the perfect chance to give it a try. I made the recipe exactly as is. The sauce was so excessively sweet, it was difficult to eat more than a few bites. Keep in mind that I LOVE anything sweet. I love ketchup (I put ketchup on everything!). I love brown sugar. This was just far sweeter than is necessary. IF (BIG IF) I were to make it again, I would cut the ketchup and brown sugar in half, and even then I just don't know.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

This BBQ is sooo delicious! I too bought a Boston butt, which is much cheaper and goes a long way. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. I buy small reusable containers that are just the right size for a meal for my husband and myself. It makes a lot, so I have several perfect meals to pull out in a moments notice. Pop it in the microwave, and it is as good as it was right out of the crockpot. It is the best weeknight dinner ever. My in-laws are my neighbors, so they expect to receive a good portion as well. This recipe deserves a 5 star rating for sure.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

I made this recipe today for the first time. I followed it as written with one exception. One reviewer said that 7 qts of popcorn was equal to two microwave bags. I didn't question that, but I should have done the math myself. I should have used 3 bags. Instead of having that caramel crunch, it was more like caramel mush. I still gave it 5 stars, because caramel mush is still very good! But crunchy, caramel popcorn would have been much, much better. I will definitely make again using three bags of microwave popcorn!

Baked Spaghetti I

I have made this recipe, as is, at least a dozen times. No changes are needed. My family loves it. My husband does not like leftovers, but he will always ask if we have any left. My father-in-law says he hates spaghetti. In 24 years of marriage I have never seen him eat it, but I've heard him proclaim how much he dislikes it. He stopped by one time while I was cooking this. He thought it looked good when I took it out of the oven. He tried it and was surprised by how much he liked it. That was at least 10 years ago, and he still talks about it!

Sourdough Starter I

This bread starter was given to me by a long-lost friend. I used this starter to make sour dough bread, but then let I let the starter 'die'. My children have asked me to make this bread over and over, but I couldn't find the starter that I had loved so much. But now I've found it again! I use this starter along with the Sour Dough Bread I recipe to make the most delicious (dense..not San Francisco style) sour dough bread. I use the Sourdough Bread I recipe (also submitted by Becky), and I get the bread that my children beg for.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

I have made this recipe as is at least a dozen times. In fact it is on the stove now! I make it every time we have leftover ham, and a time or two I've bought ham just to make this soup. It has never failed to satisfy yet. It's quick, simple, and delicious!

Becky's Chicken Salad

This is FABULOUS!! I have attempted to make chicken salad before, but I've never been thrilled with the results. Today changed all that!! I did cut back to 3/4 cup of mayo, left out celery (we don't like it) and it was perfect! I will make this one again and again =)

Molasses Cookies

The last batch of this molasses wonderment is cooling on the rack at this very moment. These cookies are perfection just as the recipe is written. I did not (and would not) change a thing! When forming balls, I simply dropped a spoonful of dough into the sugar and rolled them around in the bowl with another spoon. The dough is very sticky. They do not have to be formed into a perfect ball. I would not press them out at all, but be sure to allow plenty of room between cookies. They do spread and flatten considerably, forming a perfectly round cookie. These could not be any easier!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

My 7 year old daughter and I made these cookies for Santa today. They are delicious! All three of my children were snatching them off the cooling rack before they hit the platter! They are soft and flavorful. I followed the recipe as is. I dropped them by the spoonful, and they turned out beautifully. I'm certain Santa will love them!

Banana Crumb Muffins

I did not like this recipe at all. I made it exactly as stated. The gooey brown sugary crumb topping all settled in the center of the muffin and was far too sweet for me.

Margaret's Southern Chocolate Pie

Success! I bought a new KitchenAid stand mixer and couldn't wait to make something in it. I decided to try a chocolate pie (something I have never made before). The pie was fantastic and the meringue (thanks to my new mixer) was beautiful and tasted great! I do agree w/another reviewer to read the basics to making meringue. I had never made it before either, and that information was helpful. Anyway...great pie! I will definitely make it again. :)
