Babe Ruth Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
I didnt think these tasted much like the candy bar. That being said, they were very good, and everyone that tried it liked it, even those that dont care for peanut butter. I followed the recipe exactly, and had no problem with the bars getting hard. They were a tad bit crumbly but no big deal. I do agree with others though; these are tasty but not attactive.I probably wouldnt serve them to guest.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
Everyone loved this. I left out the ketchup, and added a jar of mushroom gravy to the sauce. I also didnt have an egg, so I left it out and only put extra breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, and a couple tablespoons of the soup and the patties stayed together when I fried them. I then put them in the oven for about 45 min. We are definately adding this to our dinner rotation. Thanks!!

Busy Day Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
I didnt really care for this. It was bland, and just tasted like canned soup. Probably wont make again.

Pasta e Fagioli II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
This soup was delicious. I can't wait to make it again. I left out the tomato juice, and used a can of stewed tomatoes instead, and a little tomoato sauce. I also left out the ham, as we dont eat pork. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
This was ok. I followed the recipe exactly and had plenty of sauce since I used only 3 chicken breast. I didnt think it was as great as alot of the other reviews however. My husband didnt care for it, so I probably wont make again. It was worth a try though!! Thanks!!

Taffy Apple Salad I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This was just what I was looking for. My aunt makes a similar salad without the nuts and adds bananas, marshmallows and whipping cream instead of cool whip. I wanted a lower fat version, and used fat free cool whip. The nuts made a great addition. I went ahead and added marshmallows and bananas at the end. Will make agian!!! I loved it!!

Baked Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2006
This was easy and delicious. I added a bit more worchestershire sauce and a little beef broth to the mix. I also added x-tra cheese at the end. Great with rice or noodles. Thanks!!

Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This had good flavor, but mine turned out VERY crumbly. I couldnt even get a piece out of the pan without it falling apart. This could be my fault as I used a bundt pan instead of two loaf pans (only had one). I was disappointed.

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This was sooo good. I followed the recipe exactly, and didnt find it too salty. I put the beef on a slightly toasted hoagie bun with some provolone cheese and a little mayo. Will definately make again. It was way better than the french dip sandwiches at our local deli.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This was sooo good. I used a boiled chicken instead of the chicken breast, and used the homemade broth as well. I used frozen peas carrots and green bean mix with the celery. Based on others review I added about 1\3 cup broth to the chicken mixture so the filling wouldnt dry out. I also reduced the heat to 375 and cooked about 45 min. Thanks for a great receipe!!!

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2006
This is well worth the 2 sticks of butter!!! I was a little worried when I was making this that the pumpkin would be too runny, but it turned out perfect!! This will be a great Thanksgiving desert...

Cran-Dandy Cooler

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2006
We loved this punch, and I can't wait to make it again. It's not overly sweet and is very refreshing. I poured the cherries with the juice into the punch, and used Fresca instead of ginger ale. Thanks for the great recipe!!

I served this dish with couscous. Instead of frozen veggies I used diced carrots and chickpeas. Healthy, tasty, and quick, who could ask for more on a weeknight...

Cheesy Mexi-Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2006
This wasnt as good as I expected. As another reveiwer said, the creamstyle corn made it kind of sweet, I would definatley use whole kernel instead. I gave it three stars b/c others that ate it seemed to like it. Probably wont make again.

Chicken Chile Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
This was awesome!!! Everyone enjoyed it and went back for seconds. As another reviewer stated, I had enough for 5 adults and a toddler, and left overs for all of us to eat again. It is a little time consuming, but well worth the effort. I followed the recipe exactly, and found that if you periodically add chicken broth while it's cooking it prevents dryness. I also needed a cook time of about 40 minutes.

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
This was ok. I didnt get any complaints but no one ooo'd and aaaa'd over it either. I used mixed blueberries and raspberries with spleda and mixed with the strawberries. I also used a vanilla cream coffee cake in place of the angel food. It was gone by the next day, but I probably wont make again.
