Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
Great Rolls! I didnt have a bread maker or a Kitchen Aid appliance so I did it all by hand and it came out very well. I activated my yeast with only slightly warm water and some of the sugar only and waited. The reason why I mentioned this was because with all of the breads I made before I ususally kill my yeast. Anyway I mixed everything together after the yeast was done activating and then kneeded the bread for about 8 minutes. Then I let the bread rest for an hour which was when it doubled in size. Afterward I formed 16 good sized rolles from this dough, put them inside an airtight container and froze them. The next day I took the formed rolls from the freezer and placed them in the oven on a roasting pan with a dampened paper towel on top. I let the rolls sit in the oven without it being on for two hours so it can unthaw and rise a second time. Afterwards I buttered the rolls on top and baked them at 350 for 15mins or until brown on top. They came out awesome!!!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
This was very good! Like others I adjusted the sugar and vanilla by doubling it. I did not double the salt because I didnt know whether I was suppose to. I also added1/4tsp of cinnamon. Like other people said adding the cinnamon does make a real difference, you can really taste it throughout, however I will try it next time without the cinnamon because not everyone likes that flavor. With the cinamon though I felt like I should have added apples, i think that would have tasted pretty good also. All and all a great recipe. Reminded me of an EGO also like others have said. An all around great recipe! Will make again.

Spinach Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
So I did this recipe and added carrots and a onion like someone mentioned. Problem was that my store bought stock wasnt very flavorful. This posed a real problem. I ended up adding salt but nothing helped, until I added a dash of soy sauce and the ahhhh...much better. Anyway, I did not add too much soy sauce until it tasted like soy sauce I just added a little and it really livened up the stock. I would do this recipe again but this time with the changes I suggested and a different brand of tortellini

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
It was entirely too juicy which made my bottom crust soggy. I added1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the mixture of apples before adding it to the pie crust but this did not help much. I used only Granny Smith apples. The flavor of the pie wasnt spectacular either eventhough I added 2 tsps of cinnamon. One thing I did to cook the apples completely was take half of the apples with the sugar mix and warm it over the stove for about 3 or 4 minutes, this helped to ensure most of my apples where cooked. However the ones I didnt do this to were still crunchy. Imagine what would have happened if I didnt precook any of the apples. I will find a better recipe if I ever make this again.
