Pasta with Fresh Tomatoes and Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
I wish I could give this recipe 10 stars! I used fresh corn off the cob, and halved cherry tomatoes, and substituted feta cheese instead of Parmesan (thanks to another reviewer). For some protein and to make this dish a complete meal, I added in some smoked turkey sausage! It was a big hit!

Roast Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
My kind of recipe simple and easy. I use sea salt, and olive oil instead of vegetable oil, and I bake them aprox. 40 minutes checking and stirring half way through so they get crispy on all sides.

Baked Ham Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
My family loves these simple yet tasty sandwiches, they are great for nice warm week night sandwich. I usually use cooper sharp cheese, because the kids prefer that over swiss, but I love using baby swiss cheese for the adults!

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
I love making potatoes this way in the summer, no oven needed. The only thing I change is I use a garlic pepper blend, and top with fresh cut chives and sometime crumbled bacon!

Creamy Cheesy Scrambled Eggs with Basil

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
I loved this version of scambled eggs, especially since I love using fresh herbs over the summer, they were light and fluffy and so flavorful. I also make this recipe using fresh parsley, and a mixture of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese both are great!

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
Truly restaurant quality!!! I took others advice and doubled the sauce and served it over pappardelle pasta, and WOW the presentation of this dish matched the taste too! I made everything in one pan, minus cooking the pasta. I did coat and season the chicken with 1 tsp smoked paprika, a heavy pinch of salt, fresh ground pepper, and flour mixed together. Definitely a keeper!!!

Cracklin' Bread II

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
What an amazing recipe...I did have to use bacon, I had no luck finding Cracklin's in PA...but I fried thick cut, diced bacon until crispy, and I added in some scallions and shredded cheddar cheese! This went perfect with my Cajun Jambalaya!

I goofed and added the parmesan cheese and fresh rosemary as I was mixing the dough, but it turned out wonderful! My only change was I used brown sugar instead of white.

You almost don't even miss the crab in these tasty cakes! I used seasoned panko bread crumbs and fried them in my electric fryer until golden and crispy! They were great the next day too!

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
Absolutely the best sweet tea recipe! I don't boil the water, but instead I make Sun Tea! I start with warm water and then let it sit out in the sun all day to brew, I will no longer buy Iced Tea at the store!

One of my favorite comfort foods for breakfast. I add about a tsp of garlic powder and onion powder and some white pepper! I also get chipped dried beef from the deli! I sometimes serve this over homefries as well!

Magpie's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
I think the bacon drippings are the key to this recipe. I did not have Spanish parika, so I used smoked paprika instead...this sauce has a lot of depth, and I loved the fresh ginger and soy sauce in this. I made pulled pork BBQ in my slow-cooker with this sauce! Unbelievable BBQ sauce recipe!!!

Golden Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
I used a whole box of lasagna noodles and added a few cloves of fresh minced garlic when I sautéed the onions and mushrooms, along with some thyme and oregano in addition to the basil. I also substituted shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese for the cheddar. It’s a very nice change from traditional lasagna. Oh, you can also use ground chicken!

I agree with the title of this recipe, they turned out great! I only changed one thing, I used half granulated white sugar, and half brown sugar...I also used a ice cream cookie scoop to form nice big, bakery style cookies!

Reuben Sandwich II

I make the Rachel version of this sandwich using Smoked Turkey Breast, since I love this sandwich, but not a fan of Corned Beef. I also use Baby Swiss cheese for a milder flavor and light Thousand Island dressing...it's soooooo good!

I made this for a graduation party, and followed the recipe exactly, I think this dessert was gone even before the meal was over, and I made it in a 10x15 jellyroll pan!!! I was short on time, but next time I think I will make my own frosting!
