Salmon Patties II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2003
This would be tasteless. Drain the salmon and add 2-3 slices of bread that you have soaked in water. Add garlic powder, about a tbsp of worcestershire sauce, egg, onion or minced onion, and one shot of hot pepper sauce. Make the patties, dredge in flour and then fry in oil. I always keep canned salmon in the pantry and the family knows that when I make these, I've run out of everything else! But we love them!

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2003
This was pretty good although the spinach flavor was somewhat overwhelming. Good texture and color. (I added cheese and paprika on the top before baking). I did not use heavy cream. I added a big glop of mayo which made it creamier. This was an accident because I didn't have any cream! I would make this again and thanks for sharing! Happy New Year!

Teriyaki Chicken for the Busy Cook

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2002
So easy I couldn't believe it. Fabulous recipe. I used chicken breasts and used the extra sauce for dipping. I have passed this one on to everybody. Company good.

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2002
I added about two cups of chicken broth at the end. (Also added chicken broth when reheating the next day). Also added garlic powder and cayenne pepper. It was awesome! Guests raved that it was the best potato soup they ever had. Entire family loved it! Bake the potatoes in the oven. It smells better.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2002
I tried this on Thanksgiving because of the rave reviews. It WAS very pretty. I did the lattice top using Pillsbury Allready Pie Crusts. I added cinnamon and nutmeg as suggested. While I like the idea of making the syrup, this pie was not as good as my tried and true method of making it up as I go along. It was too tart and the apples were too crisp. I suppose a longer cooking time and the addition of more sugar would have helped. I will try it again "doctoring" it up. The syrup idea is great! And everyone was truly impressed with the appearance.
