I am a retired gal who loves to cook. I worked for a caterer after I retired and loved it. I now am a member of a fraternal organization and do volunteer cooking for their dinners

I love ethnic foods. I have been experimenting with salads and dressings lately. I like to spice it up.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was a great cook and my daughter is also.
My cooking triumphs
I catered a reception for over a hundred people. It was a blast. I enjoy making platters, i.e. veggies, fruit, cheese and meats.
My cooking tragedies
My worst tragedy was when I was first married and cooked a roast until it looked like a small hunk of coal! At that point I didn't think I would ever cook again

Jicama Corn Salad
I made this for a quilt retreat and everyone thought it was wonderful. I did add a can of black beans, jalapeno and cumin. Would definitely make again. the girls particularly like the crunch of the jicama.

Caesar Salad Supreme
I have made this numerous times for lunch and dinner. It is the best. I also add chicken to make it a complete dinner with crusty rolls. The only time it failed was when I forgot the garlic in the dressing.....OOPS. Definitely use the anchovies....
