Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing
Love, love, love this recipe. I've used it to make a princess dress cake with all sorts of piping and flowers and it held up beautifully. It has a great flavor. Like many have said, watch your amounts depending on what you are using it for. I did change the serving size to 20 when making cupcakes. It generously frosted 35 cupcakes with the frosting being piped on. Thanks for a great recipe! I don't know why anyone would use store bought when this is so easy and sooooooo much tastier!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
Love this! I was concerned about the onion rings, so I caramelized diced onion til brown and added some grated garlic to the last few minutes of cooking the onions and sprinkled them between the layers instead. I think the amt. of cheese is great as is. I used a fork to gently lift layers of taters to let cheese seep everywhere. It's delicious with ham, pork, chicken, anything really! Excellent cheese sauce for mac and cheese (i do a similar one, but this is better somehow) too. I made one batch of the sauce for 16 oz of egg noodles (was out of elbow) and at first it looked like it would be too much sauce. I used it all anyway, because I didn't want to waste it and it was wonderful. I will use elbow or another heartier noodle next time though. Thanks CathyM for a great recipe we will enjoy for years.

Ben Lippen School Coffee Cake (Mrs. Hathaway's recipe)
It's a good cake, but I did take the advice of other reviewers by adding cinnamon and doubling the vanilla in the batter. I also like brown sugar instead of white for added flavor. A singe batch of topping would be too light for us, but doubling made too much, maybe just 1.5 next time. It was very tasty and I will make it again.
