Green Bean Okazu

It was tasty but fairly bland - I thickened the sauce, but would have liked more of it. It was definitely a great way to get everyone to eat a large portion of veggies!

Slow Cooker London Broil

Japanese Chicken Wings

Excellent - took advice from others and added some canola oil to butter so it wouldn't burn, and reduced sugar to 3/4 cup - absolutely delicious!

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

I followed the recipe exactly, and it ended up looking like a chicken version of "s.o.s." - it was tasty, but nobody wanted to eat it based on the way it looked. It actually tasted pretty good cold, spread on crackers the next day - almost like a chicken pate. I don't think I'll make this one again, but I would definitely recommend adding the rest of the can of chicken broth, as it's way too thick.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Tasted a bit bland, so added a second package of taco seasoning mix - this was much more flavorful - also rinsed the kidney beans before adding and didn't add all the water, since there wasn't room in the slow cooker - topped with cheese and sour cream and crushed chips, this was absolutely excellent.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Excellent - the kids didn't like the skins, so I would consider peeling the potatoes first - I substituted 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp garlic powder instead of the onion salt - everyone loved it!

Passover Chocolate Mandelbrot

Absolutely excellent - everyone raved, and this makes such a large amount that we ate it for several days. The suggestion that you slice it and sprinkle with extra cinnamon/sugar and rebake was well worth the time - better than biscotti!

Apple Walnut Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

I made this recipe twice in one weekend - following the recipe exactly makes for a tart vinaigrette that everyone loved for Thanksgiving, but it was even better when I reduced the onion to 1/2 cup and increased the cranberries to 1/2 cup, and used yellow delicious apples instead of red. The toasted walnuts are a nice touch. I think I'll try adding craisins next time!

Vegetable and Feta Latkes

Everyone loved these - I left out the parsley, but the next time I make them, I might try adding a little onion for additional flavor. They fried up very nicely and were a big hit!
