Zucchini Apple Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
I just got finished putting this together and was a bit confused. I substituted 2 cups of the flour for whole wheat flour and when I went to mix it into the egg mixture it was so thick there was no way I could "pour" it into the loaf pans. I added more oil, another egg, and some milk before it was even close to the consistency I have seen in other recipes. Did I do something wrong? Seems like its a bit shy on the liquid ingredients to me. Anyway, I just stuck it in the oven and can't wait to try it out.

Butterscotch Oatmeal

Much better than just plain oatmeal! Like others I reduced the brown sugar to 1/4 cup as my husband is borderline diabetic...

Tex Mex Stir Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
My family loved this recipe. Only changes I made include the following: instead of a green bell pepper I used a yellow bell pepper, also my son put his in a flour tortilla wrap - then everyone else did the same. It was great either way. Thanks for a great recipe!

Southwest Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
Excellent recipe. I have a salad picky eater - my son - can't please him with any salad...but this one did. Had a tough time with the croutons as the chili powder soaked up all the olive oil - I didn't have the full 2 Tbsp of oil so that was surely the problem - make sure you use the full 2 Tbsp for the croutons. :) Great job on the recipe - we will use this one agin and again!

Loved this one! My sister and mom begged for the recipe so I ended up sharing it on facebook! This is a definite keeper.

Seven-Minute Pudding

I used this recipe for a chocolate pie and it turned out great. My husband was amazed that I didn't use box pudding. Will definitely make this again!

Seven Layer Dip I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
Loved the dip! I ended up using two deep dish pie pans instead of one big oblong pan. Turned out it was a great idea as I didn't need all of it. I sent the other pan home with my daughter. Thanks for a great recipe.

Black-Eyed Pea Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
This is a great recipe. Not too many people liked it because of the black eyed peas (more for me!) but it tasted super great. Those that were willing to take a taste loved it. Thanks for a great recipe.

Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I made these for my family's Rockband party and they were a hit. Followed the recipe down to the letter and they tasted great and were super simple to make. At first I thought they wouldn't turn out so great - the meat was really sticky while making the balls. But they baked up perfectly. I made the sauce on the stove as directed then combined them all together in a crockpot set on low temp to keep warm while we all rocked out. My husband wouldn't stop dipping into the pot!

Thai Chicken Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I made this last night and it was spectacular! My husband said it tasted like egg rolls. He then suggested that next time we make some fried wontons or buy some wonton chips at an Asian market. We also are planning to try shrimp and/or pork in place of the chicken sometime. Great recipe as is - no changes needed - a little plain though without the Thai Chile sauce - you must have it, or some other sauce, in order for it to taste as good.

Egg Noodles

My family loved these noodles. This was the first recipe I have ever used and will probably be the only one too. I will do as others suggested and roll the dough out thinner and cut narrower noodles.

Blueberry Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
This recipe had a great flavor but next time I will follow reviewer advice and add cornstarch to my frozen blueberries and drain some of the juice after the berries are thawed. It was very runny and did not gel up as it should have. I gave it four stars - but would have given five if it hadn't been so runny.

Potato Salmon Patties

Although I was missing some of the ingredients this was an excellent recipe that my fiance and I both loved and will make again. We were missing the celery salt and instead used onion powder to substitute. Next time I will make sure to have the celery salt on hand. We can't wait to try it again!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
This recipe was really good. My family enjoyed it. We substituted shredded colby/jack cheese instead of cheddar and used only two cans of French style green beans. The only thing I felt it needed was more salt and pepper. Great recipe when you don't have canned soup!
