Taco Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
I'm giving this 5 stars- not that I actually got to taste it, but by the reaction of the volleyball players who ate it before I got to taste it! All gone in minutes. Thanks for sharing. Next time I will grab a taste if they will let me:)

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
I made these today and I'm on the fence about them. I made them exactly as written except I used butter instead of shortening and used no nuts. They have a nice flavor and are not real sweet. I do like the cinnamon flavor to the cookie. Wish I would have added a tad more nutmeg, but I grind it fresh and I never know how strong the flavor will come through. I'm taking these to a volleyball tournament in the morning and I think they will be tasty with a cup of coffee. One last thing 15 minutes in my 400 oven was WAY to long. The first batch almost burnt. My oven is new and the temp is spot on. I changed to 12 minutes and they were perfect.

Grandma's Rice Dish

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
I made this last night. Did it all in my fry pan so I wouldn't have to dirty another dish. Did brown rice instead of white and a red pepper instead of green and left out the olives. It was very good and filling. Thanks for sharing.

Easy Portobello Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
This was excellent! I followed the recipe with the only exception of using a garlic and salt paste like Naples suggested and only putting parmesan cheese on top. A very good side dish. Thanks for sharing.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I made this last night exactly as the recipe stated. It was good. I added a little hot chili paste to mine, but it was lost in the honey/soy mixture. I think next time I will add a couple of Tablespoons. I will also cut the soy down a hair- a little too much for my taste. The chicken came out good and we enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.

All-Around Good Smoothie

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
I just made this for my daughter. She needs to eat way more protein so I thought I would give this a try. I used mangos and blueberries. Thought about using oj instead of the milk, but I think the milk might have more protein. It is tasty and sweet and I HOPE she likes it. I do:)

Cindy's Beef Tips

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Cindy- Someone on the exchange recommended this to me this weekend. I had to make a meal for a new mommy and she has 2 picky little boys. I left out the mushrooms for them, but doubled the recipe so we could eat it too! My DH and DD loved it. I went easy on the spices for the new Mommy so next time I'll kick it up a notch. Easy to do and thanks for sharing.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
Oh My, SO GOOD! This is a 5 star recipe for sure. My daughter said it tasted like a restaurant meal and she was so right. Be patient with the reduction...you will get there and enjoy the syrupy sweet balsamic with the shallots! Thank you for this recipe. I will be making this again for sure!!

Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
This is a really delicious recipe! Really easy to and tasty to boot. I had some apricot preserves left over from a previous recipe and it was good to use it up. I cut the sauce in half because I only used 1 tenderloin. Spicy, sweet and salty it was an all around winner.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Very nice recipe. I made this for a baby shower brunch and all the women LOVED it. Was easy to do. I followed the directions exactly, but found I didn't need 2 blocks of cream cheese 1 was plenty. It also took almost 30 minutes longer to cook all the way through. After the initial hour it was still not set in the center. I will make this again on special occasions. Thanks for sharing.

Italian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
Very good base recipe for our taste. To make this a 5 star we would need to make a couple of changes. First the cooking times were off for my gas stove. We like our tenderloin medium rare which would cut the meat cooking time in half. Also, my sun dried tomatoes and prosciutto were almost starting to burn so I would lesson that by half also. I would add garlic and up the sun dried tomatoes. Thanks for sharing. I will make this again with the changes and update my review from there.

Green Chili Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
I liked this recipe. I followed it pretty much except I didn't add green pepper just a personal preference and I added a dash of cayenne because we like it spicy. I think the longer you cook this dish the better it will get. Next time I will cut the water in half because I think the finished product was a little to watery for us. I will also up the spices a bit. I think I could use a considerable more amount of cumin maybe even a tablespoon. Easy to do and tasty. Thanks for sharing.

Barbeque Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
If you don't like a mustard bbq sauce you will not like this one. I thought it was pretty tasty. I used a ham steak and chopped it up and served it over egg noodles. I almost thought it was a tad to sweet and added about a T of pepper. Thanks for sharing it was easy to do.

Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
Very good soup and boy does it make a lot! I was out of carrots and sub kielbasa for the brat. I thought it needed a little more seasoning at the end and some more hot sauce, but this is an overall good bean soup recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
I liked this. It was a little different and something we don't eat all the time. It is a little bland, but nothing a little salt and hot sauce wont take care of. I'm going to take the leftovers and use them in burritos tomorrow night. Thanks for sharing, Robyn.

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I thought this was really good. I scaled it back to use 1lb of ground beef. I almost forgot to put the tomatoes in it and I'm glad I did. It made it incredibly moist. Next time I will use petite diced- my chunks were a little large. Very nice flavor to this. Thanks for sharing.

Baked Chicken Saltimbocca

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
I would probably give this 3.5 stars if they would let you do 1/2's. Next time I would not bread the chicken. I don't think I have had saltimbocca that was breaded. I may try again without the breading and browning the chicken first before putting it in the oven.
