Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly and was a bit disappointed. I had high hopes starting out but the end result was rather bland. Don’t get me wrong, the meat was nice and tender, the veggies yummy (a little mushy, but a good mushy), and there was plenty of gravy. However it needed flavor, also searing the meat with salt and pepper didn’t do anything for it. What I would do next time is sear the meat with Worcestershire, olive oil, and a little butter. Then after I put the meat into the crock-pot with veggies on top of the meat. I would deglaze the pan with a mix of either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon and beef stock. Then I would pour the liquid with pan drippings into the crock-pot. I’m not sure if I would use the onion soup mix or not, I think that would depend on the users personal preference.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
Awsome! The only thing I did was add 2 cups of milk instead of three to give it a nice thick almost custard like texture. Next time I think I will use real whipped cream instead of whipped topping just because I like it better.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
Excellent! The Only thing I would do is mulitply the topping by half, that way you get enough to cover the peaches and give you a good crust but not completly soak up the sugar sauce and juices from the peaches.

French Canadian Tourtiere

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
It was good, but not great. I would make it again, but this time add something to thicken the liquid and make it into a sauce. Also I would add potatoes, carrots, and maybe some cheese. I realize it would no longer be a traditional Tourtierre, however it would turn it into a 1 dish meal.
