Egg Breakfast Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
This recipe was great! I changed a few things to my taste...I didn't pre-cook the crust (I use rustic crust and they don't require it). I halved everything (except the eggs, I used 8) and only made 1 pizza. I scrambled the eggs, milk, s&p, green pepper, onion and a pinch of jalepeno until it was starting to set but not fully cooked. I spread a thin layer of cream of mushroom on the crust, followed by a thin layer of hot salsa. Put the egg mix on top of that and topped it with sliced tomatoes and a sliced pre-cooked sausage link (didn't have any bulk sausage). Topped all that with cheese and baked about 10 minutes...which I probably could have let it cook a couple more. I thought it was excellent and my boyfriend loved it as well!

Oven Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
Great recipe! I cut it in half (only 2 of us) and cooked it in an 8x8 pan. I think next time I'll use a larger pan to get a thinner result (better for sandwiches). The first day we had these I used them for breakfast burritos (sauteed peppers, onions and mushrooms separately). The second day we ate them I made breakfast paninis with cheese, ham and baby spinach. Both were really great. I think you could definitely reduce the amount of butter used if you want to, I will next time. This is a super great, easy way to make eggs either for a crowd or to have throughout the week.

Corn and Cheddar Chowder

Great recipe! So delicious! I followed the recipe nearly exactly, just omitting the chives and parsley because I didn't have any. Will definitely make again!

French Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
Love this recipe! I followed it to a T except adding the 1 tbsp of sugar in the first step as other reviewers suggested. I am new to making bread, so I approach each new recipe nervously. I found this recipe easy to follow and very easy. I served this with the "warm mushroom spread" on AR and it was awesome together. I'm serving the other loaf tomorrow with Christmas dinner. Thanks for such an awesome recipe!

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
I wish I could give this soup 172 stars! It is amazing, amazing, amazing! I have never made anything like this, but have been having and increasing appetite for curry lately. This did not disappoint! I will make this all the time! I doubled the recipe as others suggested and added extra curry and cayenne as others suggested. I also added a bit extra rice, just because I love rice! This is an awesome soup! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!!

Lemon/Raspberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2012
I thought these were great! And I even had to make several changes because, even though I thought I had everything, I didn't! I doubled the recipe also. I ended up having to use some whole wheat pastry flour (ran out of AP). I used Greek Gods honey/raspberry yogurt (no lemon) and added the zest from 1 lemon and the juice from 1 lemon to make up for it. I didn't make the topping because I plan to freeze most of these (preserving the raspberry harvest) and I didn't think it would be very good. I followed another readers suggestion on some with not adding the raspberries to the batter but layering them in the middle of each muffin, and did some as the recipe stated. I liked the way the recipe stated better, and mine actually didn't turn to pink. I also added a few chocolate chips to a few that I layered, but I actually didn't think it added much! They smelled so good as they came out of the oven. Would definitely make again!

Homemade Bagels

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
These are awesome! Very easy to make, and oh so delicious! I've been making big batches of different varieties and freezing them individually in foil. Then, when I don't have time to cook breakfast I just stick the bagel in the foil in my toaster oven, fry up an egg, throw a little cheese on it, and it makes a super delicious, quick and easy breakfast!

Cinnamon Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
This cake is the most moist cake I've ever had! It was so delicious! It's not overly chocolaty, with such a nice touch of cinnamon! I made a few adjustments based on other reviews; I cut the sugar to 1.5 cups (it was still plenty sweet), used heaping teaspoons for the cinnamon and a heaping fourth cup of cocoa. I used regular milk because I didn't have any buttermilk. It was awesome! I didn't make the icing, but I'm sure it would be delicious too :) I will definitely make this again and again!

Hand Held Hashbrown Casseroles

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
These were awesome! Made a few changes just based on personal taste...I left out the sausage completely, used fresh grated potatoes instead frozen hash browns, and used a mix of green pepper, mushrooms, onion and black olive instead of just the green pepper. Mine were done a few minutes early, and they were amazing! My boyfriend said he wanted to eat them everyday for breakfast :) Update...We have become obsessed with these and eat them at least once a week! We use whatever veggies we have on hand, sometimes use ham, sometimes no meat at all. They are fabulous every way! We like them cooked until they are a bit crispy. I even experimented with freezing them for busy mornings. I just wrapped them individually in foil and pop them into the toaster oven when I want to use them....you would think they were baked that morning, they froze beautifully!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
This was my first try making peach cobbler and boy did it turn out good! I followed the recipe almost exactly. I made 2 small changes, I ran out of white sugar just shy of the 1/4 cup required for the topping (it was still sweet enough), and I only had 6 peaches so I also threw in an apple (still fabulous!). This is a really great recipe and so simple! If I made this again in the future I would probably use extra fruit.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
These were amazing pancakes! They weren't quite as fluffy as I would have liked, but I think this has to do with my cooking ability and not the recipe! I doubled the recipe and it made quite a few pancakes for me! It was a fabulous breakfast and I'll definitely be making these again!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
This dish is AMAZING! I made it for Thanksgiving and it was the best part of the meal for me! It seems like such a simple recipe, but it really comes out just amazing and so full of flavor! The only thing I changed was just to dice the onions instead of leaving them in rings, just personal preference! Thanks for such an amazing recipe!

Homemade Cereal

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
This is super delicious! As a snack or with milk for breakfast. I used rolled oats (not quick cook) and cooked it all slightly longer. It gave it a chewier texture which we liked a lot. I cut the nutmeg in half and left out the dates (didn't have any). Great recipe! Will make lots! Much more healthy than sugary cereals at the grocery store and super cheap to make!
