Asian Ginger Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2013
This recipe was good! My boyfriend liked it a lot also. I followed the recipe pretty closely. I read the other reviews about sesame oil, but I didn't have any so I used all olive oil. I did take others advice as far as leaving out the water and cutting the soy sauce in half. Followed all the other ingredients exactly. While we thought it was good like this I'm betting that the sesame oil adds a kick of flavor that would put it over the top!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
This was my first try making peach cobbler and boy did it turn out good! I followed the recipe almost exactly. I made 2 small changes, I ran out of white sugar just shy of the 1/4 cup required for the topping (it was still sweet enough), and I only had 6 peaches so I also threw in an apple (still fabulous!). This is a really great recipe and so simple! If I made this again in the future I would probably use extra fruit.

This is so good! It's very sweet, 1 is enough for me, but it's just the right quantity. Followed recipe exactly!

Dijon Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2012
This was great! I followed other reviewers and made a few changes. I coated the salmon with a layer of dijon and then sprinkled on Italian seasoning. I then sauteed some mushrooms, yellow onions, and garlic. Topped the salmon with that mix and popped it in the oven for 10 minutes. Served over rice, it was amazing!

Berry Good Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
Amazing! This came out so great! I made a couple of small changes. I used Greek Gods honey/strawberry yogurt (all I had) and I left out the almonds (didn't have any). My pan was also a little large, so I wasn't able to layer in the raspberries. I just put them on top and swirled them around a bit and it came out super great. I haven't made the glaze yet (waiting until the morning to make it), so I don't know about that, but the coffee cake is excellent!

Lemon/Raspberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2012
I thought these were great! And I even had to make several changes because, even though I thought I had everything, I didn't! I doubled the recipe also. I ended up having to use some whole wheat pastry flour (ran out of AP). I used Greek Gods honey/raspberry yogurt (no lemon) and added the zest from 1 lemon and the juice from 1 lemon to make up for it. I didn't make the topping because I plan to freeze most of these (preserving the raspberry harvest) and I didn't think it would be very good. I followed another readers suggestion on some with not adding the raspberries to the batter but layering them in the middle of each muffin, and did some as the recipe stated. I liked the way the recipe stated better, and mine actually didn't turn to pink. I also added a few chocolate chips to a few that I layered, but I actually didn't think it added much! They smelled so good as they came out of the oven. Would definitely make again!

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
I thought this was fabulous, my boyfriend thought it was a bit bland. I had to change a few things based on what I had at home...I didn't have any gram masala and had only dry ginger (not fresh). I also used frozen peas, and added in extra some extra potatoes and veggies (based on others recommendations). I followed everything else and served over rice. I totally loved it!

Drop Biscuits and Gravy

Reviewed: May 2, 2012
These were delicious! I made the biscuit recipe exactly as stated except tripled it so we would have some leftovers. I made the gravy exactly as stated except left out the sausage (we don't eat much meat) and it was really great. I have tried several different gravy recipes and none of them turned out very good, but finally, this one did! I sort of understand people's comments about it being a little plain...but it's biscuits and gravy...to me, this is how it's suppose to taste!

THE Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
I had to whip up a really quick lunch with very limited ingredients so I altered this recipe more than I would normally, but it still came out great. I left out the eggs, ham, and peas (no time to dethaw or cook the eggs) and the green onions (didn't have any). I added green peppers, mushrooms, and snap peas in the pod. I made the dressing as stated but used slightly less mayo (ran out) and slightly more sour cream to make up. I also used cheddar cheese instead of swiss. I was afraid it would be bad with all my changes, but it was great and we ate it all up! I will try it again without all the changes...but would still probably add additional veggies. We love veggies and it seems to me it would be a bit heavy without veggies.

Vanilla Granola

Great recipe! Makes a great snack! I think you could alter this according to your personal tastes, I stuck with the basic recipe though and it was great! We ate it as a snack and with milk for cereal.

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
These were delicious! Great flavor! I had the same problem with these that I have with all the granola bars I've made though, they don't hold together like the kind you purchase! I don't think it's the recipe though...it's me! I think I need to get a larger pan and cook them slightly longer. I would definitely make these again, they were the perfect fix when I had a sweet tooth!

Oven Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
Great recipe! I cut it in half (only 2 of us) and cooked it in an 8x8 pan. I think next time I'll use a larger pan to get a thinner result (better for sandwiches). The first day we had these I used them for breakfast burritos (sauteed peppers, onions and mushrooms separately). The second day we ate them I made breakfast paninis with cheese, ham and baby spinach. Both were really great. I think you could definitely reduce the amount of butter used if you want to, I will next time. This is a super great, easy way to make eggs either for a crowd or to have throughout the week.

Homemade Cereal

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
This is super delicious! As a snack or with milk for breakfast. I used rolled oats (not quick cook) and cooked it all slightly longer. It gave it a chewier texture which we liked a lot. I cut the nutmeg in half and left out the dates (didn't have any). Great recipe! Will make lots! Much more healthy than sugary cereals at the grocery store and super cheap to make!

French Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
Love this recipe! I followed it to a T except adding the 1 tbsp of sugar in the first step as other reviewers suggested. I am new to making bread, so I approach each new recipe nervously. I found this recipe easy to follow and very easy. I served this with the "warm mushroom spread" on AR and it was awesome together. I'm serving the other loaf tomorrow with Christmas dinner. Thanks for such an awesome recipe!

Festive Cracker Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
This was great! I'm even not a huge fan of green olives, but I quite enjoyed it! I used my food processor as another reviewer suggested...chopped the veggies then through in the cream cheese and cheese and let it do all the work. It was awesome. My boyfriend loved it! It went great as an appetizer after having bloody mary's with our breakfast : )

Warm Mushroom Spread

Followed this recipe to a T and we loved it! It was just what I expected and did not disappoint. My boyfriend really liked it also. Served this with homemade French bread (from AR) and it made a great appetizer for Christmas Eve!
