Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2006
I've tried many banana bread recipes from this website and many were good, but I do think I liked this best so far. I doubled the recipe (why make one when you can make two) but kept the sugar at 2-1/2 cups (1-1/2 white and 1 brown). I also added 2 tsps vanilla. The breads turned out moist with a very nice flavor. Thanks for the recipe. I will definitely be making this again.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2006
I hate to disagree with everyone but I thought this recipe was just OK. I like quinoa but was expecting much more based on all the five star reviews. I won't be making this again.

S'More Bars II

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2006
I made these just because I had everything on hand. No regrets. I haven't tried them cooled yet, but they are very tasty warm and gooey. I followed the suggestion of a previous review and put chocolate chips directly on top of the crust without melting them first. Worked out great and less mess to clean up. Will make again.

My Own Famous Stuffed Grape Leaves

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2005
I made this recipe exactly as written and really liked it. But my dinner guests had very mixed reviews. Two loved it, two thought it was OK, and two hated it enough to spit it out. Since I'm writing the review and liked it, I will give it four stars.

Grape Leaves Aleppo

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2005
I didn't give this recipe a star rating because I changed it. I couldn't find ground lamb anywhere, so I tried a mix of ground beef and pork. This didn't work out at all and I would not try this recipe again.

Easy Dump Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2005
My family loved this cake. It was moist and very yummy. The only thing I did differently (by accident) was that I used a 3.9 oz box of chocolate pudding instead of a 5.9 oz box as written in the recipe. They loved it and requested that I make it again. Thanks for the recipe.

Warm Goat Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2005
As a goat cheese lover, I obviously enjoyed these sandwiches. They are easy to prepare and tasty. I think I might try it on a toasted french bread next time. Thanks for the recipe.

I made the recipe as is and thought it was a very good meatless meal. We will definitely be making and eating this again. Now if only I could get the kids to eat kale.....

Poke Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2005
This is all right...wouldn't make again though. The jello made it too sweet.

Sea Foam Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2005
Maybe I'm just not a jello mold fan, but I didn't like this at all and neither did ANY of the 10 guests over for Easter. Half of them wouldn't even try it based on the looks alone.

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
This is a good recipe and can easily be adjusted to fit your tastes. I will definitely be making it again. I liked the fact that it made three loaves. I made one plain, one with nuts, and one with raisins. I did make a few changes by reducing the sugar to 2-1/2 cups instead of three, adding some vanilla extract, and using milk instead of water. The consistency was great and the loaves were devoured in two days (gasp)!

This was so easy...and good. I cheated and used a store bought pie crust.

Carrie's Garlic Pesto Tuna Salad Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2004
I really like the idea of adding some pesto to the tuna. It added a very nice flavor. Next time I might try leaving out the mustard...we're just not used to putting mustard in tuna salad.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2004
This was my first attempt at potato salad and it was delicious. I did make two changes though. First, I cut the bacon in half and second, I used 1 1/2 c. mayo and 1/2 cup Newman's Own Italian Dressing. A lady I know makes the best potato salad and she said her secret ingredient is some Italian dressing. Try it! Thanks for the recipe, it will be used again and again.

This turned out delicious and went over very well at a recent family gathering. We used steak and chicken and both were tender and tasty. This recipe will be used again. Thanks.

This was OK.............but won't be making again. I cut the oil in half and would recommend cutting back even more, maybe to 1/3 cup.

Artichoke Rice Salad

Another highly rated recipe that disappoints. This was OK. My husband and I wouldn't have a problem eating it if served at a party, but we wouldn't make it again.

Veneto Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2004
We followed the recipes exactly and thought it was tasty and moist. We made pasta instead of rice, which worked out nicely. I might try another reviewers suggestion to add garlic. THanks for the recipe.

Italian Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: May 25, 2004
This was well liked, but I made a few changes based upon what was available in my pantry. I didn't have ground beef, so I used store bought, frozen Italian meatballs. I also used fresh green beans, but added them with the carrots. And I used garbanzo beans instead of kidney. I will definitely make this again. Thanks.
