Roasted Turkey, Navy Style

My husband followed this recipe when we hosted Thanksgiving last year and everyone raved. This recipe is very healthy yet flavorful. We (he) will be doing this one again this year.

Granny's Squash Casserole

We went for a low-carb Thanksgiving this last year. This was one of several dishes used to replace the traditional stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. The family was absolutely amazed at how satisfying this wonderfully savory (and healthy) dish was. I blinked at it was gone. Have made it several times since, with the same results.

Molasses Sugar Cookies

A HUGE hit at the party. Perfect texture, flavor, and crackled surface. People were actually mad at me for bringing them, because they couldn't stop eating them. Straight from heaven.

Yummy Cheese Ball

This is a very good base recipie. Was missing a little bit of salt and heat, in my opinion. But I can take care of that next time. I will definitely be making this again. LOVE the bacon and nutmeg.

Pumpkin Soup

It was OK. Not the best I've ever had. I've had fresh, organic pumpkin soup from a very reputable gourmet food company and it was literally "to die for". I couldn't keep my husband and his friend from hogging it all. This recipe did not hold a flame to that. My husband and his same friend had zero interest in this soup. I will keep looking for a pumpkin soup that will get me closer to heaven.

Spicy Pumpkin Chili

Our houseguests enjoyed and complimented the chili. However, I am a bit of a self-proclaimed chili connoisseur and I had to "doctor" the recipe quite a bit in order to highlight the flavors. I made my own pumpkin puree from fresh pumpkin. The pumpkin didn't seem to add much uniqueness to the chili; it actually made it a bit bland. I will try this recipe one more time with a few more tricks to see if I can get more of a pumpkin/fall flavor out of it. I like the concept of Pumpkin Chili anyway, so I'm not giving up yet!

Hearty Egg Casserole

Just pre-made this for the boys for a big football weekend. I actually became annoyed at one point with the repeated compliments. I thought they were trying to be funny by being over-the-top. Turns out they were completely sincere. WINNER!!!

Pumpkin Bar Icing

I used Maple extract instead of Vanilla extract, and poured it over the "Pumpkin Cookies V" (which I actually made into a 9x13 cake) recipe on allrecipes.com, and served it for my Dad's birthday cake. It was like the cake version of a Maple bar. This amazingly seasonal flavor combination was heavenly perfection!

I took this exact recipe and put it into a 9x13 cake pan. I served it with "Pumpkin Bar Icing" from allrecipes.com (where I used Maple extract instead of Vanilla extract) for my Dad's birthday party. It was like the cake version of a Maple bar. This amazingly seasonal flavor combination was heavenly perfection!

Wazzu Tailgate Chili

Spectacular. I consider myself an amateur chili connoisseur as I have made many chilis and am quite particular about not only flavor, but texture as well. This chili nails both! I cooked it in a crock pot for 24+ hours though, so that the meat really soaked up the flavors and spices. This will be my signature chili for now; until I find a better one...

Bountiful Garden Zucchini Enchiladas
