Hash Brown and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
I made two pans of this recipe last night. One I baked right away for my family and the other I baked this morning for a baby shower. The one I baked last night I made just as the recipe stated. It was good but I needed to salt and pepper the hash browns a bit more than I had. This morning I decided to add more salt and pepper, while mixing up everything (instead of keeping it in layers) and added more cheese to the top. That really made it great. This is a very versatile recipe. Try using whatever you have on hand, ham or bacon instead of or in addition to the sausage, more onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, added seasonings... Next I may try sausage, onion, bell peppers, taco seasoning and serve with salsa and sour cream. Definitely going to use this recipe again.

Tater Crisp Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
This is super easy and I loved it! I did add salt and pepper. I also flipped the chicken half way through the cooking time to make both sides really crispy. This is a keeper in our family.

Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
These are pretty easy and tasty. I turned the temp down to 375 but still had a hard time getting them crispy and keeping them from burning. Overall I liked the taste just need to work on temp and time for cooking. My kids liked them with butter and cinnamon sugar sprinkled on them.

Pan-Roasted Steak and Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
I did like this. My problem is it didn't seem to have as much flavor as some of the other marinades I use. I loved the onions with it and my family will eat it so I gave it 3 stars.

Mocha Ricotta Creme

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
I am in love with this. I would eat it even if I wasn't on the diet!! I did make a couple of changes. I used 1 tsp of the cocoa powder, omitted the chocolate chips (because I forgot them but think they would be great) and added a little decaf instant coffee instead of the espresso powder. I used my Braun hand bleader and got it to a great smooth texture.

Vegetable Quiche Cups to Go

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
They would make an easy breakfast on the go and the taste was ok but I didn't like the spongy texture. Maybe I did something wrong?

Surprise South Beach Mashed 'Potatoes'

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
My daughter and I really liked these. I felt that it was a comfort food like mashed potatoes. I gave it three stars because I did make changes and my husband and sons didn't like it. I added some cheese and garlic powder and omitted the half & half.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
This is just like my mother in law's. I love it and it is always asked for. I used canned yams (drained) and cut back on the sugar since the yams were in heavy syrup in the can. I had to cook a bit longer in my oven. Incredible!!!

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
My husband loves pecan pie so I attempted this for the first time. I followed the recipe exactly except I put extra pecans on top to make it look pretty. This was awesome. It has all the flavor I was looking for without being "too sweet" like most can be. We loved it. Thank you for the recipe!!

This was my first attempt at pumpkin pie and it turned out great. The only change I made was to add a bit of ground clove along with the other spices.

Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
I've made this for the past two Thanksgiving's and I really like it. My sister in law requests it. I gave it 4 stars only because each year we have a lot left over and it doesn't seem to be something everyone else is really into. But again I really like the recipe.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
I made this today for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. Just what I was looking for. I followed the recipe but I used chicken broth instead of bouillon and water. I normally cut the turkey up before serving it so I cooked it in the pan breast side down. It's a tip my mom taught me that helps the breast meat stay moist. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
I loved it!! I added 3 cloves of garlic instead of 1, 4 large chicken breasts cubed, (which ended up to be a lot more chicken than 2 cups), and a few more noodles to make it fit the pan better. Our company also loved it and asked for the recipe. I will be making this again!!!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2005
Soooo easy. It was after 4pm and didn't know what to do with my defrosted chicken. I went online and found this. I did cook it a bit longer than it called for and I didn't have crushed garlic so I used minced garlic in the jar. Next time I would like to use fresh garlic, and a little salt and pepper. I enjoyed it, thank you Carol!!!

Quick Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2005
I had lost my mom's recipe for Poppy seed bread and was so glad to find this one. The only difference is she used a white cake mix. I've also tried using a yellow cake mix. All work well. You can't mess this recipe up.
