Wheat Crackers

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
these are great as is, although I thought to sub sea salt for table salt as topping. You do need to roll it pretty thin for it to come out crispy though. I will definitely keep making these!

Fortune Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
quick, easy, what more could you want in a fortune cookie recipe? I used a spoon to spread the batter out which worked well. You don't need to make it too thin to get a crispy finish.

Baba Ghanoush

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
OMG! I live in a part of Japan where garbanzo beans are scarce, so making hummus has been a real drag. After making this on a whim I went out and stocked up on eggplants because this has become an instant favorite. Try adding chili pepper or other herbs to change up the flavor!

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
Fast, simple, delicious! This is, seriously, one of my favorite things to cook now. I took a lot of other reviewers' advice and tossed with a little olive oil. It's also true that you can pretty much use any combination of veggies for this one (corn on the cob was an excellent addition)! Since I make this almost everyday, I just toss the pack on the stove using a cast iron griddle. Thank you for these great and easy side!

Spinach Basil Pesto

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
I just made this. WOW! I never knew pesto was so simple. From here on in, it's the fresh, homemade stuff only. Careful with the lemon juice and garlic, it can really derail the flavor.

Herbed Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
These are fantastic and so simple to make! First, the changes: I used dried parsley instead of fresh, substituted more bread crumbs for wheat germ, and I drizzled olive oil over the breaded nuggets. Next time, I will coat the chicken with flour first, then egg. I will also probably make more breading mixture and bread each nugget in a pan rather than a bag as the coat came out splotchy and irregular.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
Very rich pie. I had some trouble with the sauce, it coagulated pretty thickly and I wasn't sure that was what it should've done. It was tasty and worth giving another shot.

Pasta e Fagioli I

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
This is now my go to soup, it's soooooo delicious! I do what some others suggested and add more beef/chicken stock, for a more "soup" consistency. I also use whatever beans I have on hand, usually soy beans. If you've never done a soup before, start with this one!

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2012
Simple and delicious! These were so easy to make and tasted great. I did what others suggested and added a dash of baking soda and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract. I rolled them into walnut sized balls and pressed them with a sugar coated fork. Baked for 15 minutes, but I imagine they could do with even a little bit more time in the oven. Definitely will make again, if for nothing else, because it's so darn easy!

Banana Muffins I

Reviewed: May 15, 2012
This recipe is so frickin' simple and tasty, I've made these twice already and I will definitely make it again. I'm a health conscious person and so have made a few changes to help make this a bit better for you but still awesome. I multiplied the recipe by 1.5 to make them a bit bigger. I also mixed 1/2 cup all-purpose flour with 1 cup whole wheat, switched out the sour cream for fat free yogurt, mixed 1/8 cup white sugar with 3/4 cup brown, and added a taste of cinnamon to the wet mix. I also added about a 1/2 cup of roasted, crushed pecans to the batter. Finally, before baking a added a banana slice to each muffin cup.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
I'm never buying brownie mix again! I made these as written and they came out perfect. Next time I think I will try what others suggested and add floured chocolate chips and probably roasted pecans. A definite keeper.

Great crust. Really easy to prepare and doesn't take a lot of time to rise. A big hit at the pizza party I had the other day.

Ahi Poke Basic

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
I love ahi poke. This recipe is silly for suggesting mac nuts, I've never heard of that before. Instead I added a small yellow onion, sliced, and made sure to use sashimi grade tuna.

Aunt Gail's Oatmeal Lace Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
These taste fantastic. As others have warned, make sure you have ample space in between cookies. When I make these again, I'll probably just make a great big one and cut it while it cools. A definite keeper!

A basic, simple way of preparing salmon that's fool-proof. Omitting the capers doesn't hurt at all.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
This quiche is so simple to make and even easier to eat. I substituted pepper-jack for the muenster but I'm sure any kind would taste great. I also topped the whole thing with tomato slices for popping it in the oven.

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
So frickin' easy! I do what one other reviewer suggested and let the divided dough sit under a wet towel for ten minutes, and boy does that make all the difference. I think the original poster didn't have burritos or other wraps in mind when they set the servings though, I make 16 per recipe.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
They aren't as moist as I hoped they'd be, but wow are these good! I did as someone else suggested, adding 1/4c more bread crumbs and freezing them for a half hour before I grilled them. Next time I think I will try adding more Thai chili sauce to offset the dryness. Oh, there will be a next time.

Salmon Rosemary Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
I tried this recipe with both fresh and canned salmon. Fresh is definitely the way to go. I didn't have fresh rosemary so I used dried, and I think I will cut back a little next time, since it overpowered the taste of the fish. I also didn't use horseradish, instead added a touch of wasabi which was a nice addition. Overall, I'd definitely make this again.
