Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
I made this for a group of hungry teens. I doubled the recipe and was able to feed 18 teens and most of them were able to have a second helping. This recipe makes a lot as is. This was exactly what I needed. Everyone loved it.

Hot Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2012
I did change a couple of ingredients to use what I had on hand. I used a can of rotel and a small can of green chiles in place of the diced poblano peppers. And I used 2% mexican blend cheese instead of the monterey and the cheddar. This recipe was really good! All my boys asked for this meal to be a regular. My only comment on it is I thought the jiffy mix made it a little too sweet. I think next time I will use mexican cornbread instead.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
Awesome as written. No need to change a thing! The second time I made this I did double the ingredients (except the sausage) so we could have extra. Still turned out wonderful!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
I remember making these but they got eaten before I had a chance to taste them myself. My husband and kids said these are the best ginger cookies ever. Even better than their favorite ones from Trader Joes.. This is a keeper. Thanks!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
Being a southerner this is exactly what I was looking for. If you are familiar with and love sweet slaw look no further. This is the recipe you want. The only thing I did differently was reduce the sugar just a tad and used onion powder (didn't have an onion on hand). Thank you, Sandi!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
This is by far the best pumpkin bread I've made. After so many times making this exactly as written I've made a few changes just to suit my familys dietary needs. I use half white flour and half whole wheat flour. And omit the oil and use applesauce in place of. The results are just as fabulous. Thank you Laurie for posting this recipe. My family will enjoy this for many more years to come.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
A little taste of this cake can take care of a chocolate fix really quick. My son and I made this cake for his birthday. He was more than pleased with the outcome. We made this cake and used the Rich Chocolate Frosting recipe to top it off. So wonderful! Everyone loved it! However, I did have to change the recipe and "lighten" it up a bit. I did what another reviewer suggested by exchanging veg oil for applesauce, sour cream for fat free, egg whites, and used fat free - sugar free pudding mix. It tasted so sinful ... just a little healthier than the original.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
This was so easy and wonderfully delicious! My son wanted chocolate cake with chocolate icing for his birthday. This was easy enough for him to make. Everyone loved it and was amazed how great it tasted. We made a two layer 9in cake and cut the recipe in half as others said. It was PLENTY. Thank you for the recipe!
