Kale Krisps

This was fantastic! Even my picky preschooler ate it! Followed directions exactly, but I baked for just a couple extra minutes to really crisp the kale. The leftovers were just as good cold. Can't wait to make it again!

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

I have made this recipe almost a dozen times in the last month for a variety of different pies, quiches & homemade "pop tarts." It's delicious, flaky & very easy to make. I pulse the flour & salt together in my Ninja food processor, add the butter & pulse until it's all cut in, & then transfer it to a bowl where I add the water. Comes out perfect every time & this is officially my go-to pie crust recipe. Thanks!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This was wonderful! I have been looking for a sweet cornbread, similar to what is served at a local chili restaurant, and this is it!! I followed the recipe exactly & wouldn't change a thing. THANKS!

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

This was so good & super easy to make. I tossed everything in a large bowl, rather than using a bag, otherwise following all the directions. Two of us almost finished the entire head of cauliflower! I will be adding this to my regular rotation.

Creamy Herbed Pork Chops

This was delicious! I had 3 super thick pork chops so I modified the recipe to serve 3 & there was plenty of sauce to smother them in. I seared both sides of the pork & all the edges, too. I made my own Montreal steak seasoning using a Mock McCormick recipe I have & I omitted the red pepper so it wouldn't be too spicy for my little boy. Served this along side the Roasted Garlic Cauliflower recipe by Shellery, also on this site. Both recipes are going into my regular rotation.

Eggplant Supper Soup

This was delicious! Even my picky 3-year old, who gags on most veggies, gobbled this up & asked for seconds!! I used ground turkey & chicken broth instead of the beef, and omitted the celery since I had none on hand. I think zucchini or another squash could be subbed for the eggplant with equally good results. Next time, I will add some beans to the recipe for a heartier result...there will definitely be a next time!

Pineapple Fried Quinoa

This was delicious & easy to make. Even my picky 3 year old ate it! I cooked the quinoa in broth only - I didn't add the extra cup of water - and it was still pretty wet once it was cooked. I omitted the pepper to keep the heat down for the kiddo, used low sodium soy sauce & reduced it to 3 Tbsp, and subbed 1/2 of a yellow onion since I had no green onions on hand. We got almost 5 (just shy of 1-cup each)servings out of this recipe - it makes a lot. Served it with grilled teriyaki chicken & steamed broccoli. Will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe!

Healthier Sugar Cookie Icing

This was quick and easy to make & creates a nice, glossy, hard coating. However, the recipe, as is, makes enough for TWO dozen 2" x 3" cookies. I'm not sure why the recipe was written to make so much simple syrup when you only need 2 tsps of it, so I halved that part of the recipe....1/4 cup white sugar mixed with 1 Tbsp of water & used what was left (yes, there was still extra!) for a glass of iced tea.

Seafood Fettuccine

Very easy & tasty. I halved the recipe since there are only 3 of us & I used bay scallops instead of sea scallops, since that's what I had on hand. I did include the corn starch to thicken the sauce & it came out great. Next time, I'll add a bit more garlic and maybe a little white wine just to take it up a notch. There will definitely be a next time!

Super Sausage Gravy

This is my go-to recipe for sausage gravy. I double the ingredients, except for the sausage, so it's not so thick & chunky. It's wonderful served over "Cookin4my3boys" Kentucky Biscuit recipe from this site.

Kentucky Biscuits

These were fantastic & so easy to make! Very similar in taste/texture to "the Colonel's." I halved the recipe the first time to accommodate just the 3 of us & the biscuits were perfect. I love them smothered with sausage gravy, though they are just as delicious with a little butter. I've found that allowing the dough to rise for at least 10-15 minutes before baking allows for an even fluffier biscuit. This is officially my go-to recipe for biscuits.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

I've made these twice already & my family just loves them. They are moist & delicious! I like to sprinkle some turbinado sugar on top before baking, just to add a little crunch. I printed this recipe & stuck it in my recipe book because it's a keeper!!

Apple Dip

I did not like this dip at all. Made it for a gathering & it was one of the only desserts that was left at the end of the night. I followed the recipe exactly, using fresh ingredients & pure vanilla extract, but the flavor combination was odd. I'm giving it 2 stars because the texture was good & it was easy to make, but I'll never make it again.

Best Ever Meatloaf with Brown Gravy

I used my own meatloaf recipe, so this review is for the gravy only. I tripled the recipe so there would be plenty for both the meatloaf & mashed potatoes. I used baby portabella mushrooms. It was delicious & very easy to make. This gravy recipe is a keeper!

Baby Carrots And Brussels Sprouts Glazed With Brown Sugar and Pepper

I've made this recipe several times, with and without the Brussels Sprouts. I just add extra carrots if I don't have the Sprouts. It's my favorite way to eat these veggies. These are DELICIOUS & my family loves them, too!

Slow Cooker Carnitas

I used a pork tenderloin because that's what I had on hand, yet I found the meat to be tough & dry. It didn't shred easily. I didn't care for this recipe, but my husband said it was the best pork I'd ever made. Go figure! I'm going to give it another shot w/ a different cut of pork & see how it goes.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Delicious! I took this to a BBQ & served it w/ Tostitos Scoops. Everyone enjoyed it. I omitted the peppers & onions & added a layer of guacamole between the sour cream-cream cheese and salsa layers. I make my own taco seasoning, so I added 1.5 Tbsp to the refried beans and 1.5 Tbsp to the sour cream-cream cheese. This was super quick & easy to make. Definitely a keeper!

Black Bean Pasta

I made this when my vegetarian brother came for dinner. We both thought is was...bland & dry (and yes, I followed the recipe & only used 8 oz of pasta). Couldn't figure out exactly what we'd add to it to improve it. We didn't hate it, but I definitely won't make it again.
