Hot Spiced Cranberry Cider

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I made this for an open house and got many compliments. It is very good...something different than the usual plain apple cider. It makes the house smell good too! I forgot to mention that I did strain my finished drink thru a cheesecloth to remove all the excess "debris". I prefered to serve a clearer looking drink rather than have the clumped cinnamon floating around in it.

Hot Chocolate Mix II

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
This is a very good hot chocolate mix. I did as others advised and added chocolate pudding mix to mine...I added two boxes to the full recipe. I would also have to say that the appearance was a little on the lumpy side. There was no problem dissolving it, but to make it look "prettier" if you are giving it as a gift, I would send it thru the food processor or blender to get rid of the powdered milk lumps.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
I'm only giving this recipe three stars. It was extremely easy and moist, however, It was just a little too sweet. I was also put off by the color. Mine came out orange....I know that really doesn't change the flavor at all but was very unappealing. I also omitted the nuts..my mom is allergic. I will try this again maybe with cheesecake pudding mix.

Pierogi Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
Overall, This recipe was very good....a little involved and makes a lot of dishes. We followed the suggestion of one reviewer that said to double the potatoes to 10. I'm not sure if my potatoes we just big, but I had about 1.5 of potato/bacon/cheese mixture left. Also we prefered this recipe cooled a little. When it just comes out of the oven it seemed a little (for lack of a better description) oozey. After it had been out of the oven for awhile the potatoes set up and was just about perfect consistency. Will be making this one again.

Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
This soup is so easy and quick to make! Mine turned out a little on the salty side...but I think that was because I did not have any chicken broth on had, so I made my own by just throwing together some chicken base and water. I think I made it a little strong. I also mashed one can of the beans like others suggested and added a little cornstarch...we like our soups on the thicker side. Over all good tasting soup for being so easy!

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
This tea is great! We will be doubling this recipe from now on! I followed the recipe exact. I thought it was perfect just the way it was....but my husband thinks it could be a bit stronger. Thanks so much!

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
This recipe is the best! I served it with angel hair pasta and steamed broccoli....great combination! Next time I make it I will add cornstarch or flour to thicken the sauce...mine came out runny. I don't know if I just wasn't patient enough for it to thicken or what. But either way it was still wonderful. I will probably also add some chicken broth so we can have more sauce. Thank for a great recipe!

Beef Parmesan with Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
This recipe was easy to make...BUT...it was very unflavorful. You could not even taste the garlic(even with the added garlic powder). I'm not sure if it was the sauce I used, but it was VERY watery. Not a single person in my family liked this. I will not even bother experimenting with the recipe in the future.

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
It basically tasted like fluffly pumpkin pie...(which I don't like and my husband loves and he only said this dip was ok). I only had a large can of pumpkin on hand so I double the recipe. One batch I made as per the directions (only cutting back on cool whip to 8 oz) and the other I added 8 oz cream cheese and 1 1/2 packages of cheesecake pudding and 8 oz cool whip. Out of the two I prefered the one with cream cheese over the original version.

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
Very Yummy! I did double the recipe. We had two medium pumpkins and they each gave us about 2 cups of seeds. I did allow them to dry almost 24 hours before mixing up the recipe and baking. Great recipe. Thanks.

Angel Chicken Pasta

This pasta dish was very simple to make and delicious to boot! I did follow the advice of others: double the sauce, cut the chicken to bite size pieces and add a package of frozen broccoli(thawed before hand). Thanks so much for a great recipe.

American Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
This recipe is so simple to make and so good! I doubled the recipe and added cream of mushroom soup (with garlic) and frozen veggies thawed in place of the condensed veggie soup. I also had to double the onions because I did not have any celery, so I also added celery salt to the beef while it was cooking. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
Very good, but definatley not the BEST. I will be making it again. Changes I made: I boiled the potatoes in the clam juice and I also added garlic. I also added some flour to thicken it a bit.
