Water Chestnut Wraparounds

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
I made this for an open house and everyone raved about them. Best part, they are sooo easy to make. Depending on size of chestnuts, I cut bacon in thirds, Also lined the bacon pan with foil to make clean up easier.

Chunky Cinnamon Applesauce

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
I rated this a 5 because it was really yummy. I used Splenda and it was just a tad too sweet Next time will reduce the sweetener. It was still delicious.

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
Made this for a friend's birthday and had to divide up remainder so others could take some home. Didn't sift the cake mix, but may try that next time. I honestly don't think it needs any changes as good the way it is. I am going to try using coconut rum next time just to see if it makes any difference. Yummy recipe

German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
Could not find red cabbage in a jar, so decided to search for a recipe. Decided on this one and so glad that I did. Served this to a group of friends and everyone raved about the dish. I cooked in the crock pot for about 5 hours which is also a great make ahead way to do it. My husband is trying to think of times when I can make it again.

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
Was looking forward to an outstanding dessert, but was disappointed. I baked it 25 minutes longer than recipe said and the crust was still thin and gooey. Not sure I will try this again as I have a favorite from Good Housekeeping recipe book.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
My husband and I both said "yum" when we tasted the pot pie. However, I used chicken and only put on a top crust, which was sufficient and cut down on calories. P.S. I add frozen peas and mushrooms. Do not overcook the potatoes!!!
