Chef John's Smothered Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2014
This was so good! I will make this again - even for company. I did put the chops and the sauce in a corning ware dish, cover with tin foil and bake at 350 for a little bit. The flavors are just perfect. The chops turned out very tender. Love this one!

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
I am sorry. We did not like this at all. I think it was all the buttery flavor - from the buttery crackers, and all the BUTTER added to PORK CHOPS. I don't often give out bad reviews, but this was BAD. I gave it 2 stars because it was : 1. very 2. easy

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
I've never fried anything like this in my life. Man, was this good! And, for some reason it didn't taste greasy at all. I did everything as written, except I dredged in flour first, then the rest as written. I will make this again for sure. DH (fussy eater) liked it. Thank you for a very nice recipe.

I made this just as printed only used cream of celery soup that I had on hand. For sure a 5 star recipe. Easy, delish. Ok, a little salty and I'll look for low sodium soups maybe next time. Thanks for a very good meal

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I did take off the skin. I used less mayo and added milk and let the chicken sit in the fridge till time to cook. Very good - moist and yummy. Oh, I used ritz crackers because I had them. I don't think you could hurt this recipe!

Chicken Breasts Pierre

This was very good! My husband (picky eater) went back for seconds. I followed the directions exactly. Except I used 2 chicken breasts and all the sauce. After the chicken breasts were browned, I cut them up into chunks. We had it over rice. Yummy!

Dry Rub for Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
I made this for last night's "feast". I had 4 racks of baby back pork ribs. I doubled the rub recipe. Rubbed most of it on the ribs, wrapped them and let them set overnight in the refrigerator. Yesterday I cooked them, still wrapped, in tin foil on 325 for two hours. Let them set in the oven till they cooled off a bit and then back into the fridge. Last night we grilled them and let them set covered for a while and served them with heated bbq sauce on the side. Just great. Oh, I didn't use any salt at all. And I think I would use less pepper next time. This is our new rib recipe!

Tender Pork Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
Great! I followed the directions exactly except that I browned the meat before I put it in the crock pot and I cooked it on high for most of the time. Still came out very tender. Great flavor. This will make super sandwiches. A Keeper! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Honey Butter Yule Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
YUM~ I had a whole uncooked ham that I had cut into 3rds and frozen. Not sure how much. But I put one of the thirds in the slow cooker on high for 8 hours. I melted some butter and honey and added 1/4 tsp ground cloves. Poured it over the top and let it cook all day. The house smelled great - like grandma was doing the cooking. I ladled a spoon of the sauce over the ham before serving. Ended up very moist, tender, tasty! YUM~

Excellent sauce! I think it is the rum. Next time, I would cook the ribs in the slow cooker. Great recipe, I'm keeping it!
