The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
Well, I got tricked by the wonderful reviews for the recipe, but it is not what I was looking for. The dough was super, easy to handle. The taste is great too. But I have to take away 3 stars because they did not hold the cut out shape in the oven. The cookies puffed up like 15% in every direction. I had to take them out of the oven and go cut them out second time. I ended up with a lot of waste. The cookies are on the softer, spongy side, something like glazed cookies you buy in Walmart. I would call them chewy rather traditional cut out hard version. I assume these kind of cookies won't have a good storage life like shotbread butter ones. Disappointed!
P.S: I used unsalted Land-Of-Lakes butter, King Arthur All Purpose flour, added extra sugar and vanilla as advised. I used fondant to decorate them. Lots of work!!! If you like spongy, cake-like cookies, you will love them, I would not bother to use the recipe again.
