Grandma Ople's Apple Pie
This is my second year of making this pie for Thanksgiving. My daughter, who is the "Apple Anything Expert" said this was the BEST apple pie she had ever eaten, while eating a piece before getting on a plane to her next Thanksgiving meal... I did add 1/2 t of cinnamon to the mixture on the stove and yes, you can never let the mixture cool before placing it onto the crust. Delicious...

Corn Pudding Custard
Great recipe! I usually make my mom's recipe, but tweeked hers to "jive" with this one. I did as a couple reviewers suggested. I used evaporated milk for 1/2 of the heavy cream amount and heavy cream for the rest. I also added vanilla (1 t) as per my mom's recipe, and added more sugar,(3/4 c) also as per mom's recipe. I left off the salt, because I felt the salted butter would be enough (it was for us). I used 1 can of creamed corn and the rest frozen fresh corn (maybe a little extra fresh frozen corn) and it turned out great!

The World's Best Turkey
I have to agree with the name... I tried this this year and was it ever a hit. The champagne DID make it sooo moist. I put 1/4 apple in each cavity, then stuffed with the cranberry/apple stuffing you will find on this website (minus the sausage-I think it competes with the turkey) another hit! The champagne addition made the best gravy we have EVER had for Thanksgiving. It was so rich, and the champagne gave it a gourmet taste. This has just become our Thanksgiving staple.
