Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Did not like the taste at all. Overwhelming after taste from the molasses and cloves and ginger. I didn't even find it a pleasant cookie to eat. Working with the dough, in contrast to other reviewers wasn't a problem, but then I let the dough chill for several hours.

Chewiest Brownies

Too chocolately. Had a very flat flavour profile, no depth at all. Overwhelming cocoa powder and grainy sugar flavor.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Very good recipe. I have made this with blueberries, raspberries, and banana. I do think the crumble is enough for a double or triple recipe of the muffins. Changes that I made is that I always make it with wholewheat flour and I use buttermilk instead of milk. When I make it with banana, I cut the sugar to 2/3 cup.

Beef Bourguignon II

only ok as written. I think it should more appropriately be called beef with wine stew. canned mushrooms and onions? I don't understand using canned ingredients especially ones so tasteless.

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Labor intensive, but worth it. I made these for two World cup football/soccer matches and I could hardly concentrate on the games because I was so into these rings. They are really good! Only change I made was instead of 1 tsp salt I added 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt.

A little bland. I can't imagine making it with lean ground beef as that would make it even more lacking in flavor. Make it with minced lamb.

Caesar Salad Supreme

I use fewer fresh garlic cloves, but otherwise this is my goto caesar dressing recipe. 6 roasted garlic cloves give it a wonderful smokey garlic flavor! I also add white vinegar because it's just too thick if followed as it's written.

Marinade for Steak I

OK, not great. I guess I had too high expectations. I couldn't get to my usual butcher where I get very good quality steaks that don't need much marinade or extra flavoring, so I got a less expensive supermarket NY strip. It was marinated for 8 hours or so and the flavors seemed a little run together.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Tasty and easy too, both of which are important in my kitchen. I served it with cuban style rice and beans and a simple green salad. Hubby declared it a keeper after his first bite. Mods: I made it with lemon because I didn't have limes, and I didn't have onion powder so I used chives which I powdered in a mortar and pestle. I think I'll make it in a larger quantity and put it in a shaker so I can make it quick time.

Chicken Marsala

Very easy and pretty yummy. I added parsley and a little basil to the flour dredging mixture. I also removed the chicken after sautéing and used only Marsala. Though next time I'll use a dry vs sweet Marsala.

Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

This is a good dressing, but I think the vinegar and sugar could be cut out. I also added a lot more mustard, 1 TBS plus a tsp of whole grain mustard.
