About this Cook
I recently became a stay at home mom and I love it! I wouldn't really have it any other way. I wake up every morning and thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity. I have a great husband and my pride and joy is my soon to be two year old. Praying for another in the near future.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are creole dishes, soul food dishes, and southern, traditional holiday food. I don't want to say that I'm an expert just yet, but I really don't hear any complaints.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I just received my grandmothers recipe for tea cakes and her famous pound cake. We also have a "knock your socks off" mac and cheese recipe that I am very proud of. This one belongs to my late father.
My cooking triumphs
I have a few. I would say my shrimp creole and cornbread dressing are a couple.
My cooking tragedies
I wanted to find a pasta dish to serve at a gathering I hosted two years ago. I don't remember what site it came from, but I was totally ashamed of that dish. The cheese was too thick and it was way too salty. I think I will stick with the things or better yet, try the recipes prior to serving guests.

Salmon Croquette Burgers
This was a great recipe. Even better than I remember them being as a kid. I left out the dill and pepper just because I wasn't sure what taste would be created. Overall, I loved it and will become of my quick "go to" recipes. Thanks for sharing!!!!

Easy Sour Cream Cheesecake
This is an awesome recipe. I never thought I would be able to make a cheese cake this good. The only thing I would add is that it is almost a must that your cream cheese is at room temperature. If you fail to leave it out long enough, put it in the microwave for 45 sec to 1 minute. Of course take it out of the foil packaging first. Oh, and it does crack, but I don't mind because I always top it with fruit. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
