About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was a little girl. Although my mommy dearest was the one who taught be how to cook, I excel more than her in some areas. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that she hates to bake, even though she now has a oven that works properly. I am a VERY picky eater and married to a human garbage disposal, so sometimes I just let him make whatever he wants, and when I don't like it I just eat something else, like frozen pizza or popcorn. We have our first kiddo on the way. I'm all about the down-home good old fashion country cooking. The meat I will eat: hamburger, balogna, hot dogs, SAUSAGE, bacon, and a little pork loin on the grill with BBQ suace is alright
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake stuff. I have an interest in cake decorating, but I am definitely a newbie at it.
My cooking triumphs
Although it fell apart (either cuz I used Sprite in it-very tasty-or cuz I didn't spray and flour the pan enough), my first and only rainbow cake that I made for Memorial Day weekend was a success! The kiddos (nieces and nephew) and adults LOVED it! People of FB were fascinated by it as well.
My cooking tragedies
I have a homemade brownie recipe that I made perfectly gooy and ooy on the second try, but they haven't been as gooy and ooy all the other times that I've made them since.

Baked Hot Dog Sandwiches
Also picky eating adulte approved! :) I didn't mix the stuff together or anything. My hubby thought they were pretty good for hot dogs.

Babaci's Potato Pierogi
We (meaning myself and the two fellas that helped me eat them) have never made or ate anything like these before. I was just skiming through the recipes, thought these sounded good, read the reviews, and decided to make them. I used 6 or 7 russet potatoes and still have plents of filling left. I ended up with 29 of these. After reading a review I decided to add some crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese to the filling. I am SO glad I did becuase the only thing about them that had any flavor was the bacon. They need to be dipped in something (sweet & sour sauce or honey mustard maybe). Perhaps mixing some herbs into the crust would make them better. Just some things to experiment with. We figured the time spent making thise would have been worth it if they would have had more flavor and not been so bland. I wound up dipping mine in ketchup for a little flavor; ketchup is not advised. :) I started around 6 pm, and we didn't eat until 8:30 pm or so.

Sour Cream Lemon Pie
DELICIOUS! I made homemade whipped cream (using an recipe) to put on top, and it was perfect! The only thing I didn't have was lemon zest.
