Hello, the most important thing to me is my family, I have 2 daughters that are at the center of all I do! My mom is the best cook I know! She never follows a receipe, or can tell you exactly how she made the dish it is always "just add a pinch of this" or "add a shake of that"! I would be an excellent cook if I could cook half as good as she can!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make spaghetti, pot roast In a slow cooker), I am on a big squash kick right now, and found I love it baked! My daughter say's that she would rather eat my pizza's from home than ordering out!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, we had a lot of cooking traditions that were fun! I loved when mom would make home made doughnuts out of canned biscuits, and letting me add the toppings, chocolate or vanilla icing, sprinkles, nuts, cocnut, glazes, yummy! I remeber her feeding the Vero Lake Estate Fire Dept. one morining, and all of those firefighters smiling and bragging on how great those were and how great she was to feed them! I remember being so proud that she was my mom at that moment! Also, when we ate grits at home, dad would always be the one to add the cheese and make cheesy grits (love them)! Big Ham dinner's at Easter with baked beans! And not really a tradition but the food rules mom taught me: if you make meatloaf, you have to have peas and mashed potatoes, if you don't have the proper sides, you are wasting the meatloaf!
My cooking triumphs
Years ago, learning to make gravy! :)
My cooking tragedies
If it doesn't turn out right the first time, keep trying it until it does!
