Plum Chipotle Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
Loved it. I pureed my plums and then put them through a sieve really only straining out the skins. I used chipotle powder. I'm not a canner so I'm going to freeze my leftovers.

Apple Chutney

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
Excellent! I used old, mushy, sweet apples (decreased the sugar) and it turned out great. Next time, I'll use less ginger since it was a bit overpowering.

Turkish Rissoles

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
My family loved these. I made flatter patties and substituted bread crumbs for the flour. I served with a roasted veggie bulgar pilaf and an eggplant-chickpea dish. A salad would have been a nice addition. Thanks for the great recipe.

Spicy South of the Border Spinach Cheese Dip

Reviewed: May 6, 2003
This was fantastic and the leftovers froze really well. I'd add one more can diced chiles next time since I like the flavor. This will be on our standard picnic menu.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2013
I made this in the slow cooker. It was so tender but had a very processed flavor (obvious from the ingredients). We are not used to processed foods and would prefer a normal teriyaki or barbeque chicken. Although it was easy, I will be looking for other recipes. It is clear that we all have different taste buds.

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
Great bbq! Not too sweet, not too tangy, not too saucy. I used london broirl and cooked it for over 10 hours and had none of the greasy issues noted by other reviewers.

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2013
I used red potatoes & carrots & onions as a bed for beef. Added some water (broth would have made everything way too salty) and the spice mix. 6+ hours on low in cooker. Excellent. Thanks.

Easy Italian Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
Easy but overall flavorless. The cabbage really overwhelmed everything else.

I thought this was bland even for a casserole.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
The flavor was great. I put in Italian seasoning as suggested to give it a more balanced flavor. The only thing I didn't like was the aesthetics that were compromised by using a slow cooker 100% (that is that the meat gives off a foam and then leaves grayish little globs in the stew).

I used a 4-cheese Italian blend. Everyone raved about this dip and it was super easy.

Classic Thanksgiving Dressing With Parsley, Sage and Thyme

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
Very tasty. I added some poultry seasoning and sauted mushrooms. I didn't toast the bread as recommended because I was afraid it'd turn to mush.

Shepherd's Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
Great base. I substitute Italian seasoning for nutmeg since I like it more savory. I also add in some flour and water to make a bit of a gravy that keeps it nice and moist. It's always a hit!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Great flavor. I used half white and half whole wheat flour. Half oil and half applesauce. Added vanilla. I baked in mini loaf pans (my favorite size...perfect serving and bakes just right).

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
II also was looking for something more hearty than a "muffin" so I used half oil and half applesauce as well as half whole wheat andhalf white flour. This was a big hit, even for the 15yo who hates zucchini.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2012
Excellent and so easy. I forgot the taco seasoning and it was still good. I think i'll only put in half a package next time since a whole one sounds pretty strong.

Simple and tasty with syrup or jam or maybe we'll try lemon and powdered sugar next time.
