Resurrection Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2014
After 3 tries I finally mastered the sealing of these. It really does help if you can use the name brand crescent rolls. They just seem to work better. I add 1 Tsp. flour to the cin.and sugar mix as it helps to prevent the syrup from being too thin and therefore leaking out. I also seal the rolls all around as stated in the recipe but then I roll them in my hands to make a ball, roll in the cin/sugar/flour mix then dip tops into melted butter.Put in WELL greased muffin pan for 14 min.Works out every time now!! YUM!

Blueberry Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2014
This recipe is just ok. I have made it twice and won't bother again. It's alright, more of a blueberry coffee cake than anything. Not worth the cost of the berries. But if you have a bunch of berries to use up....

Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
While you really can taste the cake mix its not too bad. I think it could use more berries ( I used 2 cups frozen )and a little cinnamon helped too. Overall pretty good had a nice crisp crust the first day. Be warned it really is a thick sticky batter. Hard to mix.

Banana Loaf Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
YUM!! With over 20 years of banana bread making behind me, I have to say this is the perfect recipe. I only had 2 bananas but it still worked out well. I added 1 tsp nutmeg and 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon just because I love them. We didn't find ot too sweet at all. Maybe because of the nutmeg and cinnamon ? A big plus is the way it doesn't crumble like traditional banana bread does. Even when sliced and toasted !

Party Franks

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
I made this the way it is written for a movie snack for my husband. Plans changed and I needed a fast supper instead. Since this was already in the crockpot keeping warm, I thickened it up some with a little corn starch and served it over rice with peas on the side. It worked out very well for supper that night with enough left overs for my husbands lunch the next day.

Country Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
I don't know what happened. I made it exactly as written but it ended up so runny it was like soup with crunchy topping. I salvaged supper by making some egg noodles to serve it over. I gave 3 stars because even tho it was soupy it still had a nice flavor to it.

London Broil I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2013
This was an easy and tasty marinade. I left it overnight and in the morn threw it in the crockpot with some potato cullings and chopped onion.Added a splash of water so the potatoes wouldn't scorch, put it on low for 61/2 hours and had the yummiest, easiest supper. Hubby polished it all off!!

My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
Just ok. I was rather disapointed with this recipe. I love onions and my husband loves cube steak so I thought "win win situation." Unfortunately it just didn't click with either of us.We ate it because thats what we had, but won't make this again.

Slow Cooked Apple Brown Betty

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
I have been making this for over 15 yrs and it is always a hit. I use whatever leftover bread I happen to have on hand (italian and french are best as they are denser they hlod up better ). Be careful not to use very ripe apples as they create a runnier, thinner sauce. Otherwise the only difference is that I slice my cored apples into eighths (not diced) and cook for 4 hours. DELICIOUS!!

Great Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
I gave 2 stars for ease . We found this very bland ,almost tasteless even after adding minced garlic and marinating for 5 hours. It just seems to be missing something. Sorry.

Vegetable Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
I needed a cold salad to go with our bbq chicken. I had some asst fresh veggies on hand but no pasta. Found this recipe and thought it would work with what I had so I gave it a try. I usd rice, broccoli florets, green onions, celery and bean sprouts. Mixed with the sauce made as written, chilled for a few hours, and srinkled a little paprika on top ( for color ) before serving. VERY GOOD!! I can see this adapting well to a variety of veggies.Nice change from same old cold salads.

Cake Mix Cookies VI

My family found these just okay. They are easy to make and puff up nicely. However they will NEVER replace good ole Tollhouse. Also , the dough was not as great as others said.

Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly and the color and consistancy turned out fine. However, there was a powerful tomato soup taste. I added some grape jelly to sweeten it up some. Don't think I'll make again. Thanx tho.
