Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
I liked this recipe a lot. It is simple and quick to make. It also improves upon a vegetable that a lot of people may thing is bland. My only complaint is that no one went farther with this recipe. I think the garlic/parmesan mix definitely go better with other vegetables. This recipe isn't very health conscious either. I won't let that affect my rating, as allrecipes isn't a health conscious board. But really, was the butter melted in the oil, really necessary?

Snow Ice Cream II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
This recipe wasn't a total bomb, as it didn't taste bad. I dont think you can really call it ice cream. The sugar makes it chunky, while adding milk makes the snow runny. It also gets little chunks of frozen milk in it. I would like to try the first snow ice cream recipe, but I'll have to wait as I can't leave my house for eggs due to all the smelly snow.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2003
Excellent recipe! I make half into bread and half into muffins. A walnut/brown sugar crust makes this recipe even better and next time I'm planning on adding rasins. Can also be made with 1cup applesauce rather than 1cup oil for a healthier recipe.

Chicken A La Orange

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
I thought this recipe was fine, but I am excited to try a few variations. I sprinkled a few walnuts on top when I was finished, and I think the next time I would mix some in to add to the texture and tone down the sweetness a bit. I would also like to try some garlic and onions in the mix.

Raisin and Spice Brown Rice

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
By the time I was done with this recipe, my boyfriend didn't even mind that I was cooking with brown rice :) When I didn't have celery, but wanted crunchy - I tried walnuts, and it was just as good.

I love this recipe. Sometimes I had provolone to keep it interesting.

Catfish Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
My mom makes a similar recipe using Salmon, so I thought I would try these. I like them more than Salmon or Crab Cakes. I broiled the fish first, and then made them into catfish cakes. I didn't use as much oil either. They were terrific!

Asparagus Guacamole

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
This recipe is good and resembles guacamole, but it is pretty far from the real deal. I stuck with the recipe, and it came out pretty good. Add salt for taste, and use thick salsa so that it does not come out watery. I think that adding cream cheese would definitely help the texture.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
Awesome. Since I did not have any cream of tartar, I took a tip from Susiehomeaker and used 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 3/4 teaspoons of baking soda. These cookies are firm on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and perfect!

Cherry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
This recipe is terrific. I have made it using dried cherries and cranberries. I don't usually use the buttermilk though, and it still comes out restauarant quality, in my opinion.
