Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2004
Very good recipe! Hubby and I enjoyed much more than similar recipes I've used in the past that did not include the French Onion soup. Will make again and again.

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2003
This pie was fantastic; I have never made any sort of pie before, but this turned out just great for Thanksgiving. I toned down the spices by about half for my second pie, and the family agreed it was much better. Very easy and a great result...will make again and again!

Chicken Cashew Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2003
This was phenomenal; I left out the celery, just b/c I didn't have any on hand, and used only two chicken breasts....but everyone who has tried it so far has loved it. It is very creamy, so if you like your pasta salad a little on the lighter side, I would suggest adding a little more pasta. Overall - absolutely fantastic - I will make again and again for summer BBQs!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2003
Hubby and I have never been sloppy joe fans, but these fit our busy summer lifestyle to a tee! I added a LOT of fresh green pepper and onion, and we both enjoyed the sweet difference in these sandwiches. Leftovers were great for a quick lunch the day after.

Cold Macaroni and Tuna Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2003
This has long been one of my favorite pasta salads...my mom made it when I was younger, butw that I'm working full-time, it is one of the best make-ahead lunches I've found yet! Add mayonaisse to taste...I don't like much, but my husband is a HUGE mayo fan and always douses his portions with an extra heap. Green pepper is another colorful addition.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2003
This bread is great; very moist and full of flavor! My husband never thought I could make banana bread as good as his mom's and grandma's...but he now claims this is better, and I guarantee it's easier! This bread is difficult to get 'one all the way through, however; I think rather than using a loaf pan it would do better in a rounded, coffee-tin shaped baking pan. Mine cooked about 75 minutes total, and though nothing burned, the top was not overly attractive when finished. STILL TASTED GREAT!!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2003
Though I was skeptical that biscuit dough could possibly taste like anything other than mush in this recipe, a long-time desire to easily copycat my grandmother's fantastic chicken and dumplings forced me to try this....and it is fantastic! I used one can cream of mushroom and one can cream of celery, and cooked three boneless chicken breasts in half chicken broth and half water. I also added 1/2 package frozen sweet peas, which really perked it up. Thanks, Melissa...this is a new family favorite!

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2002
This fudge is great, though there is a LOT of it...seriously consider cutting the recipe in half if few will be enjoying it! Next time I think I will add some chocolate, simply b/c my family prefers it to solid peanut butter....but a wonderful change and a FANTASTIC end result for a first-time fudge maker!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
Absolutely the best cookie ever...at first I thought I was making too many and would never get rid of them all....little did I know how quickly these will disappear!! I think the original recipe is too buttery; several batches later, I now substitute 1/2 cup of the butter for 1/3 cup shortening, and we really like this version better...it's not quite as rich. Thanks so much for making this new cook look like an expert to friends and family!!

Leftover Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
I used this for some leftover beef roast and it was really a filling meal. Rather than mixed veggies I would add frozen peas next time; after reading other reviews, I cooked the macaroni prior to cooking...I can't imagine how poorly it would have turned out without this being done. Overall, a good meal.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
As a new bride, I am always looking for a quick treat to share with my husband and office...and these cookies definitely fit the bill! My husband begged me to take something else to work for our holiday celebration, and my colleagues begged for the recipe!!
