Ho Ho Cake
I was going to give this a two star rating, but didn't feel that would be fair, since I am basing my rating on the filling alone. I made a from-scratch Hershey's recipe chocolate cake, which is divine, and another recipe for the chocolate glaze. I looked high and low for a filling recipe and came across this one and decided to give it a try. I was really disappointed with how Crisco-like it was. Really, yuck. I added about 1/4 c of powdered sugar and it didn't help. I just used it as is, and no one else complained about it, but I wanted something lighter and less bland.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men
I give these three stars only because I loved how they made my kitchen smell. Unfortunately, after a long time in the fridge, the dough was still way too sticky to roll out. I had to plop the whole mess back into the bowl to add about 1/2 cup more flour. The cookies were extremely spicy (although my 8 year old loved the dough). Hubby, who usually is pretty tough, needed a glass of water after eating half a cookie. I thought they were way too salty. Even so, the kids and I had a fun time rolling them out and baking them, and will be frosting them today. I suspect they will be better after the spiciness is cut a bit with the frosting. Thanks, though!

Mom's Zucchini Pie
Awesome awesome awesome. I like to use more eggs in a 9x13 for a more quiche-like casserole, but the base ingredients are right on. Everyone LOVES and requests this meal from me. One of my staples...
